If there are any gaps in the foundations of their knowledge we can then attack these head on. I'm an environmental scientist by training and I spent 16 years in the environmental chemistry sector before deciding that I wanted to teach.

I have a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge. While studying in my Bachelor's program in Russia and the Master's program at Cambridge I have developed a deep appreciation of the beauty of Mathematics and decided to specialize in the area. Tutoring Approach:
I identify areas of weakness in the specification and work on this. I then work with my students to consolidate and extend their knowledge via exam style questions and worded questions. I then work with them on past papers and help students identify their areas of weakness and work on this with them. This best prepares them for the exam.

I am a private tutor based in Orpington, London. I tutor Maths and Sciences up to GCSE and tutor Maths, Biology and Chemistry at A-Level/IB. I can tutor online or in person.

Having finished my PhD at the University of Cambridge, I am now a qualified European Patent Attorney in Life Sciences and Biotechnology. I am also a Founder and CEO at a number of start-up companies.

I have tutored students from a number of schools in the South East, such as St. Olave's, Newstead, Townley, Beths, Bexley Grammar, Bullers Wood, Eltham College and Sevenoaks, as well as many more across the UK.

I also tutor many Chinese students attending various boarding schools across the UK.

I have experience with all major UK exam boards and can provide my students with relevant study materials.

Tutoring Approach:
Every student is different and my teaching style is adapted to their individual needs once we have identified their weaknesses.

I believe understanding is the best approach to learning and teaching. There's no point in just memorising things if you don't understand where they came from. I explain things in such a way that it is easy to understand, and I am very patient.

However, I cannot perform miracles. Students aiming for top grades would be expected to do some homework in between sessions.

I also offer a lot of flexibility. If the student has learnt something in school they didn't quite understand, I can go over the topic again with them during our lesson. If the student understood everything in school, I can teach them new topics to prepare them for when they learn that topic in school. Lastly, near exam times, I can offer intense exam revision and exam paper practice.
