I have been a tutor for over 15 years. Along the way, I have learnt a lot about the role and how significant it can be. For some students, I am a mentor for their whole educational experience whilst others see me as a specialist in one area.

Alongside tutoring, I am a professional actor (hence the posey photo!) and have recently worked at the National Theatre and onscreen. Acting has deepened my ability to connect with others on a personal level, fostering empathy and understanding - qualities that I bring directly into my tutoring. Engineering is one of the hardest subjects you can study, and it doesn't help when module content is disorganised, learning materials are messy and hard to follow, and when lecturers are too busy to respond to your questions. I am a recent graduate from The University of Birmingham in Pure Mathematics achieving an upper second class degree (2:1). I was drawn to the field of mathematics from a very young age. I guess that I was intrigued by the vast range of concepts in the real world that can be represented with huge accuracy. From finding hugely accurate values that would be impossible to measure in reality (such as the exact size and direction of the force needed to apply to a golf ball to get a perfect hole in one any time), to hiding information and creating impossible to crack secret codes that can be to hard for the most powerful computers but can be simple enough for any good mathematician to solve with just a pen and paper. Even though it wan't at all necessary, I learnt this, and still enjoy secretly communicating with other students. I also even help other students at the same level as me who didn't completely understand certain areas as well as i did. The same it true that I required help on the topics I couldn't understand well.

Teaching Experience:
My experiences of tuition are that I have spent the last year giving the odd lesson to a few A-Level students that are struggling in mathematics to help raise their grades up. Further, as part of my university experience, i spent one hour per week for a year tutoring disadvantaged students at a local secondary school. I have also had some experience teaching a lower secondary school student some parts of the syllabus she was struggling with.

For older students, however, I do not want to undermine the importance of being properly prepared for public examinations. The beauty of maths and physics is that the amount of rote learning is much less than other subjects and practice problem solving and understanding concepts is the key to success, this provides much more engaging revision. Although if you are struggling with teaching yourself a new topic or just didn't find that you 'got it' in class, it can be incredibly demoralising. This is where a second explanation or some targeted understanding can help out. moreover, with regular meetings, we can increase the efficiency of your study and I can teach you some tips on self-assessment and identifying in what manner you can help yourself, which is a vital skill the higher up the educational ladder you climb.

For younger students, my approach is to build a strong foundation of the basic skills whilst exploring more intricate concepts in a guided but ambitious manner. I believe that many students are capable of going far beyond the scope of their syllabuses, with the right guidance and encouragement.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach towards teaching is based on the principle of "Student Oriented". I believe that every student has their own particular way of learning so I adapt my teaching technique as per the requirement of each individual. The focus of each lesson is on getting excellent score in exams.

I have a very flexible and organised approach towards teaching and have vast resources to deliver the lesson ensuring complete understanding of the topic taught.

Being a teacher and exam marker, I fully understand the exam preparation criteria and can deliver the topic as per exam requirements. My aim for students is always to prepare them to achieve the exam with distinction grade. I believe in providing more and more practice to the students about exam style questions and developing their problem solving and analysis skills.

I am a 25 year old who has completed Masters in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from the University of Birmingham. I also have a year of experience working as a Sofware Developer at Mercedes Benz. I have an excellent academic background in Computer Science and Maths .

Teaching Experience:
I have extensive experience teaching Mathematics and Computer Science to students aged 8 to 15, tailoring my approach to suit different learning styles and abilities. My teaching has focused on building strong foundational skills, encouraging problem-solving, and fostering a genuine interest in these subjects. In addition to working with younger students, I have also conducted doubt-clearing sessions for my juniors at university, helping them to overcome academic challenges and deepen their understanding of complex topics. This combination of experience has equipped me with the patience, communication skills, and subject expertise necessary to support students in achieving their academic goals.

My teaching style is student-centered and adaptive, focusing on understanding each learner's unique strengths and areas for improvement.
