I Utilize Various Teaching Skills and Techniques to Address Individual Needs -

Each learner is unique and absorbs information in their own way, so I apply various teaching strategies and techniques tailored to each individual. To illustrate my approach, I categorize learners into children and adults. Children typically have a limited attention span but are drawn to games, stories, songs, and rhymes, so I incorporate interactive activities of this nature into the classroom. This approach helps words and sentences to be absorbed more easily and naturally, keeping the children fully focused and engaged. Colourful flashcards are both enjoyable and effective. After providing guidance and demonstrations, I encourage young learners to creatively construct their own phrases and simple sentences. The children enjoy this process and perform exceptionally well.

To maintain motivation and inspiration among adult learners, I encourage and support them to take charge of the class. I help them engage in various thinking and communication exercises after they've understood the theoretical information and knowledge. I deliberately guide students to use the target language by incorporating it into daily activities and familiar environments as language resources. This approach sparks curiosity, prompting learners to construct sentences that reflect real-life situations.

Three weeks later I took a Chinese proficiency test and placed at mid-novice level (the test was aimed at people who had 120+ hours learning time, I had eight hours under my belt). I have studied PGCE Mandarin at a university in the Uk and obtained a qualified teacher certificate. I am teaching Mandarin at a school in the south of England. All of my students like my teaching because not only can they learn mandarin listening, speaking, reading and writing, but they also enjoy learning about the different Chinese cultures as well as taking part in many activities at the same time. All of my GCSE year students have achieved A* grade GCSE Mandarin. I am a mandarin native speaker and I used to be a compere on the stage in China. Last year saw my first two non-native speaking students take their GCSEs; both my British and my Korean student got As, after I had taught them from beginner level, two years previously.
