From teaching students their first lesson to analysing millennia-old Chinese literature with native-speakers, I have enjoyed this challenge. I have over 23 years' teaching experience in universities (both in China and the UK). Since 2017, I also supervise PhD students in Translation Studies as well. I left my beloved working university because I need to move to London with my family. Hi, I am Lynette, and I am originally from Singapore. I am a native English and Mandarin, Chinese speaker, and have lived in the UK since 2013. Currently, I am finishing up my PhD in neuroscience (in the final stages) where I work frequently with children with and without learning disabilities and/or neurodevelopment disorders. My main approach to tutoring is the principle that there is not a one size fits all teaching method. Specifically for little ones, I do not believe in a sit down and learn approach, I have found success in incorporating games into our learning.
