I also have an undergraduate 2.1 with Honors degree in French and Italian at The University of Manchester. I have spent 6 months in Bologna in Italy, working in a private language school for those wished to learn either Italian or English. I worked as a copywriter for the school website, working in French, Italian and English. I also worked as a conversation tutor to those who wanted to learn English. I lived in Paris for 7 years where I worked at ELLE, the well known women's fashion magazine, where I used solely French as well as a stint at Kantar Health and the majority of my time at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris. I am very down to earth and my biggest passion is football, I enjoy a good movie and love a good comedy. If you feel more comfortable meeting in a neutral place, a coffee place or in the town centre that is fine by me, I can be flexible. I have a clean criminal record and can boast a detention-less education!

I believe that tutoring is a very important concept for some children. Students benefit hugely from one to one information and reinforcement; and it may be a far more effective learning strategy than classroom teaching. I think it is important to first gain an understanding of where a child's strengths and weaknesses lie, in order to focus on the areas which perhaps need improvement. I also value a child's input as they are good judges of what they feel they do well and what they may need help with. The tutoring sessions will move at a pace that the child is comfortable with, and help with homework and coursework will be available. For GCSE and A-Level tutoring of desired essay structuring and revision strategies can be discussed and learned, as these are often overlooked in schools.

I feel that tutoring outside of school may help improve a child's confidence within a school environment, be this in the work itself or in class discussions and for them as a person. It is not always easy for a child to speak up at school, and if they do not understand this may result in them falling behind. As a tutor I am able to reinforce school work at a pace more appropriate for the level of your child, and allow them to develop and learn in a way that is suitable and enjoyable for them.

I prefer to tailor my methods according to the needs of the individual student. Some students require more leadership than others. It is important to encourage the student toward better work and methods of working.
I encourage students to discuss with me their difficulties in grasping a particular area of law. It is very satisfying to see a student begin to thrive in an area of law which initially seemed intimidatingly difficult.
It is always important to apply the law one has learnt to a variety of potential situations in order fully to understand how the law works in practice. I tend to plan my lessons around how the student likes to read and what their focus points are whether that's exam techniques, revision techniques or essay writing. I will always try to make the lesson as fun and engaging as possible so the students are excited to learn so I'll always start with a revision game and end with one as well to keep it exciting.

If essay writing is the main focus point I will plan for the main part of the lesson to either help write a practice paragraph or plan a question together. If revision techniques are the main focus point then I'll come up with fun ways to help the students revise and want to continue revising after the session ends. I'll always also ask the student their preferred way of learning at the start of the lesson and then at the end of it I'll ask again and make sure they found the lesson okay.
