My approach to proof-editing / English checking is to look primarily at the language. For some clients - university students in particular - it is not appropriate to offer an editorial service as this goes against the rules of university submissions. However, where I think a mistake has been made or something is not clearly expressed - and it is not a simple matter of correcting the language - then I will flag it up to the student so they can look at it again.

My main aim with my tutees is to build their confidence and enthusiasm for the subject. To this end I concentrate on teaching the skills they require to achieve the grades they want. My role is not to replace the teaching they get at school but to compliment it so a tutoring session could concentrate on planning an essay the student has been asked to write or going through specific areas the student needs help with. I do not have any official qualifications in Italian, however my background in romance languages (Italian is a Latin-based language which, broadly speaking, I find to have a very similar vocabulary to Spanish with the grammar of French!) and my methodical nature means I would ensure that every lesson is thoroughly planned and carefully checked; I would never teach you anything I am unsure of, as this can be greatly detrimental. I am not available to help with exam preparation for Italian or to teach more advanced levels. Since I was a young student, I have been extremely passionate about Italian History, Philology, Culture and Traditions. I'm currently working at Parliamentary Groups of Sicilian Parliament (ARS) where, since 1993, I've been performing a proofreader role of legislative texts.
Considering the nature of my job, I have always had a keen interest in the Italian language, focusing on the linguistic structures in order to perform high skill levels in spoken and written Italian.
I'm also cooperating with various authors as a translator of books.

I prepare my lessons by planning what I will teach my students. I consider the level of the students, their age, the skills I hope they will achieve, and the final goal of the lessons.Interaction is the key to ensure a successful learning process.
