My approach to proof-editing / English checking is to look primarily at the language. For some clients - university students in particular - it is not appropriate to offer an editorial service as this goes against the rules of university submissions. However, where I think a mistake has been made or something is not clearly expressed - and it is not a simple matter of correcting the language - then I will flag it up to the student so they can look at it again.

My main aim with my tutees is to build their confidence and enthusiasm for the subject. To this end I concentrate on teaching the skills they require to achieve the grades they want. My role is not to replace the teaching they get at school but to compliment it so a tutoring session could concentrate on planning an essay the student has been asked to write or going through specific areas the student needs help with. I am Italian and I moved to the UK in 2005 and I have been living in UK since.
I love teaching Italian and I find it the most rewarding job I could ever do because since I have started it has enriched me as much as my students.
I believe that learning a language is more than just learning grammar and vocabulary, but it is the experience of communicating and exchanging part of the culture through it.

Teaching Experience:
I am an experienced qualified Italian teacher in both the UK and Italy.
Since moving to the UK in 2005, I have taught Italian in different colleges and in private tutorials to prepare GCSE, AS and A2 tests as well as teaching beginners courses or conversational Italian at home.
Thanks to my first class teaching, my students have obtained top GCSE level results (A - A*) as well as A levels ones.

I have also been teaching Maths for the past 5 years in Secondary schools up to GCSE level.
I am now working as a supply teacher specialized in Maths.

Tutoring Approach:
I am an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher, with high expectations for all my students, believing that with a personal and individual approach each student can achieve high level results in languages.

Hi, I'm half Finnish and half Irish and currently studying management at The University of Stirling. I love teaching English as a foreign language and can also teach Italian for beginners. I am doing this to earn some money alongside my studies as well as gain more experience.

Teaching Experience:
Last summer, I worked in a summer school where I was teaching English as a foreign language for six hours a day for six weeks to Italian, French, Spanish and Chinese students.

I have also done one-to-one tuition in Italy for three months.

I have never taught Italian before but willing to teach those who want to learn beginner Italian as I lived in Italy for 5 years so do know the language quite well!

Tutoring Approach:
I take either a vocabulary or grammar topic and combine it with two of the four language skills; speaking, listening, reading and writing. I mix things up but keep it fun and enjoyable.

I am a 21 year-old Italian student of English literature and Sociology in Scotland. I am easy-going and look to create a friendly learning environment. I love languages, both learning and teaching them, as I believe they help us thinking from different points of views.

Teaching Experience:
I have tutored children back in Italy, teaching some basic English.
I have spent six months in a international language school in Canada, where I have been in contact with inspiring teachers and modern methods of teaching. I have attended IELTS courses as well, and I'd be willing to help students to prepare for this certificate.
I myself have received a score of 7 when I attended it 2 years ago, before starting college.

Tutoring Approach:
First I will have to assess the student's level, then I can proceed accordingly. Depending on what is being requested from the student, like improving grammar, comprehension or writing, I will provide enjoyable exercises or even games when possible, as there is no fastest, easiest way of learning than having fun.

I am Vanessa and I come from Italy and I am here to help you learn Italian. I live in London but I was born in Rome. I am a qualified Italian Teacher to Adults. I can speak Italian, English, Spanish and Czech. I also have a degree in Languages and Linguistic-Cultural Mediation in English and Spanish and a Masters Degree in Italian teaching.

I have been living in London since 2010 where I achieved a Post-Grad diploma in HR at Westminster University in 2016.
I have been teaching Italian language since 2018. During the pandemic I decided to turn my passion about teaching into a full time job.
In 2022 I attended a CLTA certified course at International House on teaching Italian as a second language to adults.

I work on a free-lance basis for two language schools in London and I devote the rest of my working schedule to private students. I also do small groups.

I am qualified and experienced in preparing students for GCSE and CILS certificates.
