I have a deep understanding of the GCSE program since I am tutoring three English secondary school students who are having difficulties with the Italian language. A few years ago I enrolled in a workshop offered at the university about the use and choice of scene Italian films for understand better the Italian style-life and that has been quite useful to my teaching of Italian culture.

Successful language teaching should combine a fun approach using oral practice including song lyrics and games with a more structured approach to grammar; this gives the student confidence that they really understand the language used. The advantage of private lessons is that I can focus on what the individual learner wants, which might be lots of oral practice to become more proficient at speaking, or to pass a specific exam. I do like to set homework from week to week as this is an important part of progress; but it is not compulsory!
