Having completed a full-time degree and worked extensively in educational environments and contexts, I am equipped with plenty of different learning methods - including, through my theatrical background, more kinaesthetic or practical approaches, particularly suited to students who may struggle with 'book learning'. This in turn helps students to gain in confidence and self-motivation as they discover their own capacity to learn - and enjoy learning.

If students are working toward exams, I first seek to establish what a student feels his or her weaknesses are, and then focus tuition on areas or skills which will help them to plug the gaps or grow in strength and confidence. If more general support is needed, I will combine working with core material with a focus on ensuring that they have a solid grasp of the assessment objectives, question-types, and what the exam will look like, so that they can go into the exam confident and well-prepared. I also find that practice, practice, practice is essential, so we'll often work with past papers.

I developed a love for reading at an early age, which eventually expanded to writing as well, and which led me to study English Literature and Creative Writing at university. I try to encourage a love of reading and writing in all of my students, both by making lessons enjoyable and by building their self-confidence. While English can sometimes seem a dry and boring subject, I believe it shouldn't be, and that any child can learn to enjoy it given the right approach. 3 years of professional tutoring experience in all core subjects, with experience tutoring international A levels and iGCSEs as well.
My tutoring style is closely aligned with current teaching philosophies, with a large focus on the specification content and exam practise.
I offer a huge range of Exam questions after content is covered, and I make sure any gaps are identified and markschemes and "exam ready" preparation is discussed.

I usually conduct my sessions via Zoom using an online interactive whiteboard, which is available for students to view outside of sessions as well.
My approach to tutoring is tailored to my students needs- I won't move on until the topic is understood, and constantly revise topics to ensure content is retained.
