I am a working actor and a Graduate of the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Before going to drama school I went to The University of Nottingham where I achieved a first class degree in English Language and Literature. I am self-motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about Drama and English.

Hello, I am a well qualified, BA, MPhil, PGCE teacher who is looking to branch out into more private tutoring work. I have privately tutored for many years and have experience since 1996. I regularly monitored progress, set achievable targets, and used active recall and exam-question practice to address gaps in understanding. My support has helped several students improve by two to three grades, including students progressing from C to A and B to A*. In addition, I have worked closely with teachers to develop learning resources, mark and moderate A-Level and GCSE assessments.

Tutoring Approach:
My tutoring sessions follow a clear structure to meet students' individual needs. Before we begin, I like to have a conversation with the student, either over messages or on a video call, to get to know them better and understand what they would like to achieve. This gives me the opportunity to identify areas where they may be falling behind, topics they find challenging, and the type of support that would benefit them most. From there, I can create lessons that are tailored to their needs and help them build their confidence in subject knowledge and exam practice.

Personal Description:
I'm a friendly, patient and approachable tutor who enjoys helping students develop both their knowledge and confidence. I believe that learning is most effective when students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and exploring ideas. My aim is to help each student make progress while developing a positive attitude towards learning.

Teaching Experience:
I have a Master's degree in Medicine, Science and Society from King's College London and decades of experience tutoring students on an individual basis. This has given me extensive experience adapting lessons to different abilities, learning styles and needs, as well as helping students prepare for exams and develop their understanding and confidence.

Tutoring Approach:
My main focus is on building confidence, as I find that confidence not only improves understanding but also encourages students to practise and engage with their learning. I aim to make lessons interesting and relevant by connecting topics to real-world applications and, where possible, the student's own interests. I adapt my approach to each individual, creating a supportive environment where students can ask questions, learn from mistakes and enjoy making progress.
