I'm Craig and I have been teaching languages for almost 15 years now. I am a relaxed and patient teacher and will be well suited to anyone who needs to learn at their own pace or who needs things explained well and carefully to them.

I am also well qualified for the job with a BA Honours degree with triple distinctions in Spanish, Italian & French as well as Teacher Qualified Status and a CELTA. I have also lived, worked and studied in Spain, Italy, France and Greece.

I have studied a lot of languages myself. I've studied over 30 languages over the years. I have achieved fluency in the languages I teach, but I have also reached a fairly good standard in some other languages or have acquired a basic knowledge of many others. I will use some of the methods I have used to learn these languages to help teach you.

TARGETED APPROACH: I find out the areas where the student will need the most help, then I plan my lessons carefully to address those areas of difficulty. I always try to build on the way the student has been taught at school, so that my tuition complements their school learning rather than clashing with it.

EXAM TECHNIQUE: I also ensure that we are always working on exam and revision techniques while learning. This includes helpful mnemonics, studying past papers and mark schemes, and ensuring we are engaging closely with the relevant syllabus to pick up as many marks as possible when it comes to exams.

TIPS AND TRICKS: I like to build routine into tuition sessions, so that the student knows what to expect in each session, which helps boost their confidence, and so that grammar which can seem strange and unfamiliar at first becomes second nature. I've got plenty of tips and tricks to help with the most difficult parts of grammar and syntax. It's useful to break things down into smaller chunks - for example, the large set texts can be daunting, but they become manageable when taken piece by piece.

I am a Classicist with degrees from Cambridge (BA) and Durham (MA, PhD) universities and have been tutoring for over 10 years. My current work focuses heavily on Latin literature, as I am preparing to publish a commentary on Martial's twelfth book of epigrams, although I am equally able to offer assistance to students of classical Greek literature.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tuition will of course largely be dependent upon the needs and ability of the respective tutee. For GCSE or A-level students, however, I believe that it would always be best to begin each lesson with a quick test on a point of grammar and vocabulary, and a literary stylistic feature (e.g. identifying a chiasmus etc.), since these formal aspects essentially underlie the series of unseen exams from GCSE - A-level. After this test, each lesson should focus on a text, ideally alternating each lesson with a text that is prescribed as one of the set texts for the respective exams with an unseen passage. This approach tends to produce the best results since the unseen passages give a true indication of the student's strengths and weaknesses and help the tutor to understand more easily what aspects need to be prioritised.

During the last two years I have been teaching different courses at the University of Leicester, acquiring a strong experience in dealing with students. Γεια σας, my name is Sofia and I am from Athens. I currently live in Leicester. I hold a PhD in Museum Studies and Education at the University of Leicester. I am also certified for the teaching foreign/second language by Open University, UK. I have been working as Greek tutor since 2018. I believe that the best way to learn a language is to SPEAK the language. Hence, our lessons will mostly be based on conversations through which you will practise vocabulary and get a better understanding of Greek grammar rules. I don't want to be the classic teacher; I consider myself a facilitator, and I can tell you that no language is difficult - what you need is the right method.

I have 9 years of experience teaching students Greek as a second and foreign language in the UK as school, university and private tutor. I teach adults and children, and my aim is to make my lessons enjoyable, interactive and productive. I have acquired a great deal of experience in teaching; for adults, I have experience teaching at an A1 Level (Beginners) to C1, C2 (Advanced) and for children, primary school to GCSE. I currently preparing student for the Greek GCSE and teach Modern Greek at the university and in private lessons online, having students at different ages and from all over the world. I have also been GCSE examiner in the UK.

I understand that every person is different, therefore, I organize and structure my lessons based on students' needs, interest, age and level, respecting their rhythm to learn and offering relaxing, comfortable and engaging environment to practice the language. In our first lesson, I would love to find out more about your interests, your goals, and your motivation to learn Greek. Likewise, the first lesson presents a valuable opportunity for me to consider your needs and feelings, and allows me devise a learning plan that is suitable and enjoyable for you.

I like to start my lessons by encouraging student to talk about what they have done in the last few days, or during the weekend. We will also review the vocabulary or grammar learnt in the previous lesson. I always create exercises that are useful for students to practice different skills. For example, I will share videos for listening and understanding or we would start a conversation after reading a text. I will also introduce a topic in each lesson, so my students can learn new vocabulary and grammar through different activities. Hi all, my name is Jack and I am currently a finalist undergraduate at Oriel College, University of Oxford studying for a BA in Literae Humaniores (Oxford's name for Classics) hoping to help people stay on top of their education during a time in which education has been incredibly unstable for many.
