At the same time I am a practising photographic artist with an interest in abstract photography. I have a comprehensive understanding of contemporary photographic practices and of theoretical approaches to the subject, and also have a strong technical grounding both in traditional and in digital processes. I am experienced in all stages of the development of photographic projects, from early conceptualisation through to printing and exhibiting.I have exhibited nationally and internationally in both solo and group shows. I am an experienced teacher of both classics and modern languages, and have taught in a variety of secondary schools. Successful language teaching should combine a fun approach using oral practice including song lyrics and games with a more structured approach to grammar; this gives the student confidence that they really understand the language used. The advantage of private lessons is that I can focus on what the individual learner wants, which might be lots of oral practice to become more proficient at speaking, or to pass a specific exam. I do like to set homework from week to week as this is an important part of progress; but it is not compulsory!

Tutoring Approach:
I am open to teach beginner, intermediate, and advanced level of language courses. I would prefer in-person teaching in the Oxford area; however, online sessions would also work. Please let me know. I would like to go through a grammar book that I mostly rely on when teaching languages. However, if your level is above the beginner level, we can also do speaking sessions, where I can occasionally correct mistakes, taking notes about them. After this, we can go over the related subject.

If you need any guidance about any academia-related subject, I can help you with this. My previous students were quite happy to see that the quality of their term papers and short term assignments significantly increased after having one to one in-person sessions with me. Aside from teaching students how to contextualize various academic subjects, I also show them how to structurally organize their works.

I am a highly experienced language educator with a degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. For the past 30 years, I have been teaching both Modern Greek and Classical Greek to learners of various ages and backgrounds. My teaching approach combines a strong foundation in grammar and language structure with an appreciation for Greek culture and history, aiming to make lessons both educational and engaging. I am passionate about helping students build confidence in their language skills while deepening their understanding of Greece's linguistic heritage.

Teaching Experience:
With over 30 years of experience, I have been teaching both Modern Greek and Classical Greek to a wide range of learners, from beginners to advanced students. I graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and have since worked in various educational settings, including schools, colleges, and private tuition. My experience covers not only teaching the Greek language but also incorporating cultural and historical elements to enrich the learning journey. I have taught students of different ages and backgrounds, and I take pride in adapting my methods to suit individual needs and goals.
