I'm Craig and I have been teaching languages for almost 15 years now. I am a relaxed and patient teacher and will be well suited to anyone who needs to learn at their own pace or who needs things explained well and carefully to them.

I am also well qualified for the job with a BA Honours degree with triple distinctions in Spanish, Italian & French as well as Teacher Qualified Status and a CELTA. I have also lived, worked and studied in Spain, Italy, France and Greece.

I have studied a lot of languages myself. I've studied over 30 languages over the years. I have achieved fluency in the languages I teach, but I have also reached a fairly good standard in some other languages or have acquired a basic knowledge of many others. I will use some of the methods I have used to learn these languages to help teach you.

I will help you, step by step, to begin speaking and understanding your chosen language.

I was born and raised in Greece and I lived for eight years in Germany before moving to the UK, where I've been based since 2010. Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching Greek and German since 2012, one-on-one for all levels and ages as well as for businesses. Since 2016 I also teach Piano, Singing and Music Theory in various music schools in London and privately. I have also taught Movement sessions for various levels.

Tutoring Approach:
Drawing from my experience in both academics and the arts, as well as from my own continuous language learning, I bring a creative and dynamic approach to my teaching, customizing my methods and materials to suit each student's personal needs. I do appreciate a textbook and workbook as a main starting point and as a priority I strive to explain clearly any grammatical phenomena, syntax, word meanings etc. until these are well understood and the student can use them independently in written and oral speech. Then, besides grammar and vocabulary drills, and depending on individual learning goals, there are endless possibilities in foreign language immersion and acquisition, which I'm most happy to suggest and incorporate in the lesson!

I am a native Greek speaker, specialized in Greek Language and teaching. I have been teaching Greek as a seond/foreign language for the last 11 years in various contexts. I have had students inside my classrooms or through a one-to-one teaching that had from 0 to 10 motivation/prior knowledge/time to study/talent in learning foreign languages. Γεια σας! My name is Alkisti and I was born and raised in Athens, so Greek is my native language. I was an excellent student during my education in Greece and in high school I followed theoretical studies, focusing on the study of ancient and modern Greek. I started learning English when I was 7 years old and have lived across the UK in the past, while currently, I live in Scotland. This has made me fluent in English and I can confidently say that I have a great understanding of both Greek and English.

Teaching Experience:
In the past, I have taught English as a foreign language to young and adult learners in Greece. I have worked with students of all ages and levels and have successfully aided them in advancing in their studies of the English language.
I have been teaching Modern Greek since 2018. Some of my students wanted to learn Greek for their work, while others were just interested in the language. I have received very positive feedback from all of my students so far.

Tutoring Approach:
When it comes to teaching, I believe that the most important thing is to take into account the wishes and needs of the student. Everyone has a different approach to learning and I try to respect that and follow teaching techniques that are interesting and educational for my students. During the lesson, I communicate in the target language as much as possible, in order to familiarize the student with the phenomena of each language and resort to the student's native language only for explaining things that the student might have difficulty with. For each lesson, I try to create new activities, designed specifically for the level and needs of each student, in order to target the aspects of the language that the student needs to practice on.
