I approach tutoring different ways depending on who the student is. I then take these away and mark them in my own time and return with a deeper view of where they are going wrong after they have been taught. I have a particular interest in grammar and feel that it is very difficult to have a good grasp of a language without some grammar competency. This is especially important for A Level examinations. However, grammar does not have to be taught in a boring way and I often use games and fun exercises as well as more formal methods. Primary pupils learn mostly through games, puzzles and songs.
