I'm a certified teacher working as a tutor for students in Norfolk and across the UK. In university I completed a specialist in psychology, while also minoring in English literature. Teaching Experience:
I started working as a tutor in London and Surrey in 2013/2014, mainly for students who had been excluded from school. In 2015 I relocated and began tutoring private clients in East Anglia. In 2016 I started offering online tuition, first using Skype, and now with Zoom. I now tutor virtually all of my students online, though I will occasionally tutor at a student's home when my schedule permits.

Tutoring Approach:
For younger students, I assess them on their first appointment to see where their strengths and weaknesses are. I then focus the lessons on the areas they need improvement in, using an individualized approach that is suitable for that particular student. I also help students prepare for examinations, such as the GCSE; in this case I mostly focus on giving them tasks and questions that resemble what they will face on their tests.

Hi, I'm Anna. I'm an author and a poet, I have had many poems published, won first prize in an international poetry competition (2011) and have also brought out two collections, which are on sale on Amazon. In 2015 I published my memoir A Hippopotamus at the Table. Set in South Africa in the 1970s. I'm about to publish my second memoir and published a book called Writing Memoir. I teach all abilities and levels, and have high standards both professionally and personally. I teach lower secondary, GCSE and IGCSE (all boards), A level English Literature, English Language, and also Language and Literature. I also offer all aspects of undergraduate English including critical theory and essay/dissertation writing.

I have been teaching English for 25 years, across a range of levels and contexts, and have worked as an A level examiner (senior and principal) for over 15 years. I ran the GCSE provision in a local FE college for 5 years, along with A level and Access to HE teaching at the same college. While I studied for my PhD (in Shakespeare's language) at the University of Birmingham I taught both Shakespeare and introduction to Linguistics at that university and several others in the region, at undergraduate and masters level. I began full time tutoring in 2011, teaching a wide range of levels, from lower secondary to A level and undergraduate. I have high success rates in all of these. I have worked successfully many times with dyslexic students.

Although I have considerable subject knowledge and experience of delivering all aspects of English, I have learned over the decades that understanding my students and their needs is what makes the most difference.
