Tutoring Approach:
My first step is always to assess exactly where my student is at so that I can plan the content for sessions accordingly and make sure that they get the best out of each lesson. If there are any gaps in the foundations of their knowledge we can then attack these head on. My approach is thus very organised and tailored to the specific needs of the student, with small goals set per session alongside a long term goal to work towards. I always ensure that my lessons are engaging, and work towards building a good relationship with my students, encouraging them to ask questions without any hesitation. My approach for students studying Psychology at degree level depends on what is required. Most students require guidance with essays, reports, dissertations and write ups; I usually go through the assignment with the student giving valuable, detailed feedback on what can be improved and exactly how they can go about doing so. This can involve several redrafts until the work has been completed to the students' full potential.

GCSE's

Jack's mock results were an E in English Language as well as a D in literature and he wanted to do Economics A level which required a B grade in his final GCSE. Jack had two hours of tuition per week from January to May. He enjoyed going (this surprised me as he hated English before the sessions) and had a new found likeness for literacy. He received a B in both language and literature and can now do A level economics. Jack related very well to David- this made learning easier for Jack and he obtained the grades he needed. His teachers at school noticed a marked improvement in his work when he was having tuition.

Oliver was falling behind in Math's and English. I am very happy to say that his confidence and his ability to retain what David teaches him has improved greatly. I have directed several theatre productions at drama schools, fringe and off-west end theatres. Susannah is a member of the Aureus Trio, exploring works for flute, cello and piano.

Whilst at Trinity, Susannah was chosen to participate in the conservatoire's side-by-side orchestral project scheme, performing alongside professional flautists from the Philharmonia Orchestra and Welsh National Opera Orchestra. Hello my name is Anne-Marie, I am from Ireland but have been living in the UK since 2004. This is now a place I call home. I realised I had a flare for imparting knowledge when I became a basketball trainer at 15, working with Primary and Secondary pupils.
