I'm an author and a poet, I have had many poems published, won first prize in an international poetry competition (2011) and have also brought out two collections, which are on sale on Amazon. In 2015 I published my memoir A Hippopotamus at the Table. Set in South Africa in the 1970s. I'm about to publish my second memoir and published a book called Writing Memoir. I was not a great student as a child. Rigid and rote teaching sucked all the appreciation I might have had from learning. That is, until I returned to education in my late 20s and, over the course of two bachelor's and master's degrees, discovered just how rewarding it can be. Partly because of this reason (and partly because I simply love sharing knowledge!), I began a new career in teaching and for the past 9 years - with over 600 hours of teaching logged - I have made a point of injecting colour into a learning world that, for many students, has become drab and monochrome.

Outside of teaching, I love my arts and crafts - from drawing and painting to cross-stitching and model-building. I love being creative! And that feeds into my teaching. I currently teach AQA specification, but have also taught EDEXCEL/EDUQAS/WJEC/IGCSE at KS4, and currently teach AQA specification at KS5, but have previously TAUGHT CAMBRIDGE/OCR/WJEC. I have also supported pupils with UCAS applications, personal statements, and 11+ entrance exams. I have worked with home-schooled pupils, and those who may have had gaps in their education at times, both with great success.

Tutoring Approach:
I am nurturing, supportive tutor who strives to get the best out of my pupils by gently pushing them beyond their normal limits. I offer bespoke one to one tuition based on the individual needs of the pupil so that they can fulfil their maximum potential. I feel very passionately about teaching one to one and find great reward in my pupils' successes.
