I have worked with many gifted children and those also who find education a challenge. I specialise in special needs especially dyslexia and Autism. After training as a teacher and the a medical doctor I find that my interest has remained in the education field and so am now to begin training as an Educational Psychologist with the Institute of Education, University of London.

My general approach to teaching is to enhance individual skills by providing an individual programme for the student. This allows the student to learn independently instead of the learning associated within schools of one size fits all. Unfortunately, this does not work with many children who need a structured individualised approach. I also work within the "We find this subject a challenge, not an impossibility" field; that is to say everything is positive concerning the tuition, and everyone can learn, its just they have not been taught in a way that they personally understand. My first step is always to assess exactly where my student is at so that I can plan the content for sessions accordingly and make sure that they get the best out of each lesson. If there are any gaps in the foundations of their knowledge we can then attack these head on. My approach is thus very organised and tailored to the specific needs of the student, with small goals set per session alongside a long term goal to work towards. My approach for students studying Psychology at degree level depends on what is required. Most students require guidance with essays, reports, dissertations and write ups; I usually go through the assignment with the student giving valuable, detailed feedback on what can be improved and exactly how they can go about doing so. This can involve several redrafts until the work has been completed to the students' full potential.

I have been teaching for 12 years in a variety of educational settings in Further Education, Adult Education and working in Primary schools delivering courses to children and parents. Tutoring Approach:
My tutoring method is a creative and co-operative approach with the student, and family when appropriate.

Each student's academic needs are different, as are their learning styles.

I respond to the requests of the student, and create lessons accordingly - having a variety of materials, and access to further materials as required.

I am a friendly and enthusiastic tutor who has worked for the past four years in York as a full-time teacher of both English Language and English Literature. I have taught at both secondary and sixth form level, and have supported students with a wide range of abilities (including those with special educational requirements.) I really like to help boost students' confidence in, and enthusiasm for, my subject, whilst also doing everything possible to enable them to pass vital exams.

Teaching Experience:
After obtaining my Postgraduate Certificate in Education I became a fully qualified English teacher in York, UK.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach to teaching is to be positive, supportive and constructive, carefully scaffolding learning to suit an individual student's needs. For example, we could study topics in concurrence with a student's ongoing in-school lessons to help reinforce and deepen understanding. We could also focus carefully on improving reading and writing skills, and of course we can learn how exactly to hit all of those objectives on the exam mark scheme!

When I tutor, I like to start by discussing what subject areas and skills the student would like to focus on, what their individual learning needs are, and what kind of progress they hope to make. I can then be sure to tailor tuition in the service of clear goals.

By providing one-on-one coaching, I make it possible for students to:
o Access learning that was harder to grasp in a busy classroom environment.
o Understand a wide-variety of concepts and texts in the curriculum.
o Develop stronger writing skills.

I have over 10 years of experience teaching English, drama and study skills. My students include primary and secondary school students and adults. I can help you prepare for your exams, improve your writing skills (academic and creative), as well as your reading comprehension and analysis of novels, plays and poetry. I am a Masters Graduate from the University of Leicester with Masters in Accounting and finance.I have always enjoyed learning and teaching Maths and English to my colleagues, with most them them excelling in their Academia as a result of my tutoring.

As a partly qualified Accountant , my role entails analysing Client's Financial data and advising clients on how to manage their business efficiently. I am very passionate about my job and i will endeavour to bring that same passion to my students.

I am currently teaching a tutoring centre for primary and GCSE students . I also have my private students i am preparing for GCSE and entrance exams for year 7

Tutoring Approach:
For Primary school I have the CGP materials for Maths, English and Verbal and Non Reasoning. I have a set of topics for each student and once completed, we tick it off. I also do monthly reviews on topics we have already covered to ensure students are confident and ready for their exams.

For GCSE Maths, I also have topics from Grade 1 - 9 and depending on my students level, i have various material for them to work with to boost their confidence and prepare them for their exams.

My name is Kierri & I've been a professional tutor for the last 15 years. I genuinely love to learn and believe I learn as much from my students, as they do from me. I'm a writer & a poet & though young people don't always favour these topics, I believe my passion for English, really inspires and motivates students and if they don't catch the inspiration for learning, their grades naturally raise as they go along. So it's a win win for me and for the student.

I've dedicated my professional life to teaching & I much prefer teaching students one on one. They get the generalised teaching at school & then they get the attention they truly deserve in the comfort of their own homes.
