I am a professional tutor and qualified English teacher with over 25 years' experience in education. A graduate of King's College, London, I gained my teaching qualification at Jordanhill, Glasgow in 2010, and have taught in schools across Scotland since then.

As well as being a teacher I am also a writer, and have eight titles published. I write for both children and adults, and my first children's novel won the Royal Mail Award, Scottish Children's Book Award, and is still on the First Minister's Reading list. In this capacity I have visited schools and libraries since 2006, encouraging literacy among the young.

I have been a professional tutor since 2014, and have numerous testimonials from parents and students who have found my support invaluable. I help students prepare for Higher English with targeted support in close reading, critical essay writing skills, folio writing and exam technique. Students learn how to interpret texts clearly, build an effective argument and communicate their ideas with precision.
