I am a qualified teacher having been awarded a PGCE from the University of Cambridge. I also have a First Class Bachelors degree. I previously taught at Queen's College Preparatory School, London and now teach online for Eton College. I am a member of the professional body for tutors.

Tutoring Approach:
Although I learned all my foreign languages through a rigorous method very much based on writing and grammar, I am happy to adapt my method to my pupil's needs. Personally, I believe that conversation is the key to becoming fluent in a language, but at the same time I do not neglect the importance of writing and reading comprehension. I was delivering lessons spanning the complete age range and all levels of ability. These included one-to-one lessons for adults studying for their B1, B2 and ISE III exams. Once a month, I was the interlocutor in the speaking exams, and I marked the written exams. I was also coaching adults with their speaking skills.

I encourage the student to speak as much as possible by using a variety of techniques to provide material to talk about, using everyday vocabulary. More specialist vocabulary is explained for work purposes. I am extremely patient and have experience teaching learners from all over the world and therefore understand particular pronunciation difficulties. I provide a lot of help with common problems encountered, using, for example: tenses, phrasal verbs, and word order in sentences.
