Recently returned to the UK to live near my family after teaching abroad for many years. I have 2 teenagers who no longer need my constant attention. I enjoy speaking other languages and love teaching, especially one to one teaching, where I can focus all my attention on the individual.

Tutoring Approach:
As a tutor, I try to be flexible in my approach to adapt to my students' needs. Most of the time I try to be as clear as possible in the explanation of the grammar so it serves a purpose communicatively. Therefore, I put an emphasis on grammar and communicative practice, both related to one another.

Tutoring Approach:
I encourage students to contribute their ideas as much as possible in my lessons. I prepare lessons thoroughly according to my student's needs and deliver relevant material to stimulate their interests and further their understanding of English in a real life context. I encourage students to speak out and be prepared to make mistakes, and I am willing to give instant or delayed correction as required to model the correct language. I believe there is always a place for teaching grammar points, however, my lessons are centred around real-life contexts and grammar teaching is embedded within that learning process. For every class I ensure there is great scope for conversation, both small talk and more structured discussions. I am Funda.I am from Turkey so I am a native Turkish Speaker.I graduated with a bachelor`s degree in English Language Teaching from Anadolu University in 2005.After I passed the public personnel selection examination successfully,I was appointed to my first public school in 2006 as a permanent English Teacher in Turkey.

I taught English language and culture in different kinds of public schools from nursery to secondary and age groups between 3 and 18 years old by using differents teaching methods and techniques during 13 years.In those years except teaching English,I also carried out two European Union Projects called Commenius Projects with great fundings.Placing in international projects was one of my dreams. By this way,I provided almost 100 students and school staffs with going abroad,meeting different cultures and practicing their English and also joining an international project to create a common product with different nationalities. Then I moved to the UK to make my biggest dream true.I have been running my own business since October,2019.I founded UkArs Education to teach English and also Turkish to speakers of other languages and to find the most suitable language school for the students from all over the world who want to study English in the UK as an educational consultant.Before pandemia,I had private lessons face to face,gave education counselling service and translated documents but now I have online lessons mostly and sometimes make translation.

Since pandemia,I have been giving my lessons online and I have been using an interactive book on Zoom while teaching to an online student.There is no difference between online lessons and face to face ones.It is so effective to improve all four skills;speaking,listening,reading and writing.

I have been teaching for 18 years and have taught students from 6 years old through to adults. I have worked extensively in the UK (including Higher Education), and at an international school in Spain. I am a registered examiner with recent experience.

I have a first class honours degree in English and Politics from the University of York - I love English and I want you to love it too! I am passionate about enabling everyone to reach their potential. I specialise in KS3; GCSE/IGCSE English Language and Literature; adults who are returning to education after a break; academic skills for Higher Education; and students who are learning English as a second language (including preparation for the IELTS exam).

I have been tutoring online (in addition to my classroom teaching), since 2016 using a range of online platforms such as Skype, Zoom and Teams. I have a PGCE and I became CELTA qualified, graded Outstanding in all areas, in 2014. I also have an Understanding Dyslexia qualification from London South Bank University. This is a particular area of interest to me and I have taught many dyslexic students who have successfully achieved their qualifications.
