I always try to make my lessons fun and my aim is to always tailor my method to suit the student's individual needs. In my language lessons I tend to focus on the student's oral communication skills. I start each lesson by revising earlier material (usually through a communicative activity or an interactive one) and then I move on to new material. There is always plenty of speaking and while I let the student work out the rules of the language themselves (I am in favour of the inductive method), I am always on hand to help and to explain.

Hi there! I'm Emily. I grew up in London, and I am a native English speaker with a British accent. I find languages fascinating, and have studied French, Spanish and Russian, so I understand the experience of a language learner. As well as language learning, my hobbies include swing dancing, reading, art and watching films!

I am an experienced teacher with a native British accent. I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA in Education Studies and English Literature, before completing a PGCE in Primary Education. I am fully TEFL certified and DBS checked, and teach both adults and children.

I have taught in several London Primary Schools, and continue to teach Primary School children part-time.

I offer conversational English classes for intermediate-advanced students.

My lessons use art, music, literature and film to create stimulating conversations. I have a rigorous approach to grammar and pronunciation, but prefer not to use coursebooks. I will listen and respond to your needs in real time, identifying and working on your weaknesses with you, meaning that my lessons are fun and tailored to your interests! During my 21 work experience years as a Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages ( TESOL /Teaching Arabic Foreign Learners (TAFL) instructor , I established 10 years of experience in the UK in supporting various EAL students ( including Special Educational Needs) starting from Early Years to Further Education, successfully helping them to settle in their respective educational setting and overcoming language, culture and behaviour barriers to become more engaged in the school life. Throughout my working experience, I had been successfully working closely to plan, monitor, supervise, and report development of various students. Due to my lingual excellence and ability to manage time effectively. I built an excellent repertoire with all families and service providers and managed to provide a quality service to the Asylum Seeker and Refugee Community in Wirral. I built on my previous experience when I got appointed as an Arabic/English Language Interpreter at a Language Service Provider, where I provided language interpretation in different social, educational, medical contexts, supporting Syrian families in different situations to bridge the cultural, lingual gaps to facilitate settlement and cohesion. I provide a Traded Service to support schools in Wirral to meet the needs of pupils with English as an additional language (EAL) and ethnic minority pupils. My role is to facilitate good home/school communication for refugee and asylum- seeking families with aim of ensuring that each pupil achieves their full potential. I support pupils' settling into school and development of English sometimes via translations of instructions and curriculum language. I also provide support for families prior to and during admission of children with EAL to school/setting. Encourage and promote home-school/setting-community links for example: supporting schools in developing initiatives to meet the needs of EAL parents by providing information about ESOL classes and weekend community language classes. Successfully participated as an Assistant Moderator (Postal), to moderate the work from approximately 20 centres with candidates taking the examination in 0544/03 Foreign Language Arabic Speaking (c/w) for the June 2018 & 2019 sessions. In addition, I have also worked as an Assistant Examiner to mark the work of approximately 400 candidates taking the examination in 0508/01 First Language Arabic Reading (scoris) for the June 2018&2019 sessions, where the marking was done via RM processor. Furthermore, due to my excellence in the pre mentioned 4 modules, I was asked to perform further services with Cambridge assessments, where I was required to proofread test material for 3180/01 & 3180/02 OL Arabic June 2019. Teaching Experience:
Since I'm a University student, I prefer conducting online classes the most where it can suit my lecture/tutorial schedule the best ! I'm a very bubbly and cheerful person, so studying won't all just be books and papers, chit chats will be coming in the full package as well ! I've tutored kids between the age of 5-10 before for English so I believe my patience level is well equipped as one the top qualities I have as a teacher ! Just remember, being 'gifted' or not doesn't matter ! Studies all honestly revolve around your effort and originality to it !
