I have spent many years accumulating a wide range of academic qualifications, and my work has often primarily consisted of passing on my knowledge to others in a form they can understand. I get a lot of satisfaction from helping people to understand something they thought was beyond them. By virtue of having studied several subjects at a high level, I empathise with the feeling of finding something difficult, and have the patience and technique to get past this. I am not a single-subject specialist who might find it difficult to understand why others struggle in their area of expertise.

My whole career has been geared towards some form of teaching. During the first session I present a short questionnaire that I ask the student to fill in (honestly!) in order for me to assess their individual learning styles (right brain vs. left brain, use of visual stimuli etc), so that I can respond best to their needs. Every lesson will begin with an outline of the subject content and the intended aims. The key to success in maths and economics is to do it! With that in mind, the vast majority of lessons will entail methodically working through problems and exam style questions to ensure my students are as well prepared for their modules as possible. Before university, I achieved A*AA at A-level in Economics, Mathematics and Chemistry, alongside an A* in an EPQ exploring the economic impact of AI on the UK economy.

I've always been fascinated by how the world works, which is what drew me to Economics. I particularly enjoy macroeconomics, microeconomics and financial markets, and I love following economic news and seeing how the theories we learn apply to real-world events.

Outside of my degree, I play football for my college team, and I'm also interested in personal finance and investing.

I wanted to become a tutor because Economics is a subject I genuinely enjoy, and I'd love to help students build both their confidence and understanding. It's a fantastic subject that opens the door to a wide range of careers while developing valuable analytical and quantitative skills. My aim is to make lessons engaging, approachable and enjoyable, helping students achieve the grades they're aiming for while developing a genuine interest in the subject.

Teaching Experience:
Over the past year, I've been running my own A-level Economics tutoring business, working with students across the Edexcel specification. Lessons are delivered through Microsoft Teams using an interactive whiteboard, allowing us to share screens, work through diagrams and calculations together, and build detailed notes that students can keep and revisit after every session.

Every lesson is tailored to the student's individual needs, whether that's mastering a difficult topic, improving essay structure or preparing for upcoming exams. Alongside strengthening subject knowledge, we place a strong emphasis on exam technique by working through past paper questions, examiner expectations and the use of high-quality evaluation.

Students also benefit from my own handwritten revision notes, which helped me achieve an A* in A-level Economics and over 90% across all three exam papers.
