I trained as an actor at Arts Educational schools and have forty years experience working as an actor, director, writer and trainer. For ten years I worked as an audio director, directing many of the UK's leading actors in recordings of 150 audio books, poetry collections and drama. As a writer I have seen my plays produced in repertory theatre and by small touring companies and have also written for TV. I have been coaching people in presentation skills, acting and elocution since 2003. I teach young adults aged 18 and over and adults of any age.

I hold a First Class Degree in English Literature and Drama from Manchester University.

I've been tutoring for nearly 15 years, working with students aged 6 years, up to 18, supporting them through KS1-4, GCSE and A'Level/IB curricula. I have also taught English as a foreign language. The content of my tutorials is entirely student- led; i.e I work towards the individual's goals and learning styles. I studied English Literature at Edinburgh University, graduating with a First Class Masters in 1999, before going on to train as an actor at the prestigious London Academy of Dramatic Art (LAMDA) in 2001. Since graduating, I have worked extensively as an actor in theatre, television and radio and since 2007 I have worked very closely with acclaimed theatre company The Factory as an associate producer and director as well as an actor. I have a wide-ranging interest in the arts (from contemporary music through to cinema and the visual arts) as well as an active interest in politics and current affairs. My name is Gur, I'm a theatre and performance maker and a Hebrew tutor residing in London since July 2014.
I was born in Israel in 1986. I grew up in the outskirts of Tel- Aviv and lived in Tel-Aviv most of my adulthood. I attended the prestigious arts school Thelma Yellin followed by the Yoram Lowenstein acting Studio where I graduated in 2009. I completed a Master's degree in Performance at Goldsmiths University of London in 2016. Alongside tutoring I have been presenting my work in different venues around the UK, Royal Vauxhall Tavern Hall, Greenside at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Belgrade theatre in Coventry, and the Camden People's Theatre. Since 2015 I have been teaching Hebrew in London, there are great results and moreover Hebrew tutoring provides me with a connection to my roots. In my productions I put an emphasis on the actor or performer and I am experienced in achieving a result that will satisfy me and my actor.

This add up to his statement that the performer "lives truthfully under given imaginary circumstances", hence, I highlight the tension between the performance actions and the performer's mode on stage.
Together with the performer I encourage building an inner-monologue combined of images and sub-texts, to enrich and create an extra layer to the performance. I have been involved in Education for over twenty years and I am especially passionate about the English Language, which is where my expertise lies. I graduated with a B.Ed (Hons) Degree in Education; English and Drama being my specialist subjects. I am currently studying Biology, Psychology and English Literature at Churston Ferrers Grammar School in the UK and have a strong passion for my studies.
I'm very much into my sport and exercise, I play wheelchair basketball for Plymouth Fusion and enjoy going to the gym a few times a week for how it makes me feel. I'm an overall advocate for all people (but particularly young people) taking care of their own physical and mental health through the right activities and approach to life.
