Although I am not a native French person I am a trainee French teacher and am a fluent speaker over the last 20 years, I understand that some people require a native speaker but not everyone can teach and I can prove my ability through my numerous high achievers and results. I am an excellent teacher and all my students grades get up to A* when they take my advise.

I am doing a PGCE in Teaching French in secondary schools and will complete in June 2020. I tailor my lessons via different types of presentations to suit the individual learner from my laptop and I am familiar with all exam boards including AQA, OCR, WJEC, Edexcel and Eduqas (new GCSE exam-board) etc. I also use a range of textbooks depending on the students requirements. As Senior Teacher/ Teacher in Charge, of a Medical Pupil Referral Unit I headed up a dedicated team of skilled teachers who worked with young people on a 1:1 and small group basis. I am a working actor and a Graduate of the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Before going to drama school I went to The University of Nottingham where I achieved a first class degree in English Language and Literature. I am self-motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about Drama and English.

Although I learned all my foreign languages through a rigorous method very much based on writing and grammar, I am happy to adapt my method to my pupil's needs. Personally, I believe that conversation is the key to becoming fluent in a language, but at the same time I do not neglect the importance of writing and reading comprehension. My expertise is in achieving band 9's, the highest awarded grade. However, I also pride myself in my ability to support and help students reach their own personal targets.

For dyslexic students I have created resources to support them in written exams, particularly in drama.

I have taught GCSE drama (edexcel exam board) for 6 years and GCSE sociology (aqa exam board for 2 years.

Many of my students have achieved band 9s in both of these subjects.

I trained as a drama teacher originally but extended my skills set to also be able to teach GCSE sociology.

I am also qualified to teach a level drama although I have not taught this in a few years.

18 year old A level student and high achiever at GCSE looking to help younger students.
I am currently studying Biology, Psychology and English Literature at Churston Ferrers Grammar School in the UK and have a strong passion for my studies.
I'm very much into my sport and exercise, I play wheelchair basketball for Plymouth Fusion and enjoy going to the gym a few times a week for how it makes me feel. I'm an overall advocate for all people (but particularly young people) taking care of their own physical and mental health through the right activities and approach to life.
Also, I enjoy playing music, mainly singing, as well as acting. I have performed in various shows and concerts in my school throughout the years which is something I really enjoy and a great way to boost my own confidence.
Finally, at the beginning of 2022, I began a YouTube channel with the aim of helping people start good habits (like that of studying) and build positive mindsets to approaching life in an enriching way.

Teaching Experience:
At my young age, I have no prestigious teaching qualifications. However I have two incredibly helpful experiences/characteristics to be an effective tutor:

I will aim to create a fun working environment for my students where they look forward to working with me.
I will aim to be encouraging and empower my students to find their own love for learning.
I will aim to show all my students that they have potential to succeed and that they do not have to be demoralised by perfectionism and comparing themselves to others.

My first session is free and from then the price will remain at £20.00 an hour for all of my subjects (maths, english, biology and drama) for the time being.

Hello! I'm Alexis, your approachable, results-focused tutor for English and Drama. I'm friendly and easy to talk to, with a quick, light-hearted sense of humour that remains respectful. I'm goal-oriented and know what needs to be done to reach your targets. I'm happy to work with all ages. I have my own twin boys in S3 starting their National Fives so I understand the pressures for pupils and families. I want you to feel confident going into class and into exams. In particular, I want you to enjoy the process!
I teach one to one or small groups of up to four from my home in the west end of Glasgow or online. Groups are based on level and on texts. Please just reach out to discuss your needs.

I've been teaching English since 1999. I also ran a drama school. In 2017, I added drama to my General Teaching Council qualifications and began teaching drama in schools. I'm currently a visiting examiner for N5 and Advanced Higher drama, and I am also a marker for Advanced Higher assignments for the Scottish Qualifications Authority. Over the years, I've taught in many schools, starting in East Dunbartonshire and Glasgow councils during my early career. More recently, I spent nine years teaching English and drama at The High School of Glasgow. I left in the summer to take up an international teaching post, but I missed Scotland (and its weather too much!) and have returned to build up tutoring. I am experienced and have an excellent understanding of the exam standards.
