I graduated from Cambridge University with a BA in English Literature, and then from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, graduating with a BA in acting, where I was the recipient of the Noel Coward Scholarship from 2008-2011. In July 2011 I won the Michael Bryant Award at the National Theatre, for verse speaking and Shakespeare.

When I'm not acting or tutoring I can be found in the plumbing, plastering, kitchen or grappling with a cryptic crossword.

Whilst at secondary school I taught reading skills to children who had low reading-ages.

I wrote a thesis on the connections between Maths and acting whilst at Guildhall.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is tailored to the individual's needs; firstly finding ways of fully explaining a concept, then cementing them with useful and memorable material to build students' confidence. My main objective would be to aid the student in understanding not only the specifics of the work but also the broader aspects of it, which I believe provides a truer grounding in - and enjoyment of - a subject. By making the work useful and enjoyable, and by finding alternative and effective approaches to study, I hope that my tuition will shed new light on subjects for students.

My passion is building confidence and fostering resilient approaches to problem solving.

I specialise in tutoring Maths and particularly enjoy helping those students whose confidence in the subject has become a barrier to their learning and enjoyment of the subject.

Having myself struggled with poor teachers, or unwieldy subject matter, I know that, with the right teachers, such areas can come alive. I am a professional actor and director. My work is primarily in the theatre both in the UK and Internationally. I continue my career in the theatre and balance this with my teaching work.

Teaching Experience:
I have a wealth of teaching experience as a professional performer. I have tutored in schools, colleges and also at The Arden School of Theatre in Manchester on the first year acting study course. I have directed numerous student productions and taught children and young people drama technique. My name is Gur, I'm a theatre and performance maker and a Hebrew tutor residing in London since July 2014.
I was born in Israel in 1986. I grew up in the outskirts of Tel- Aviv and lived in Tel-Aviv most of my adulthood. I attended the prestigious arts school Thelma Yellin followed by the Yoram Lowenstein acting Studio where I graduated in 2009. I completed a Master's degree in Performance at Goldsmiths University of London in 2016. 18 year old A level student and high achiever at GCSE looking to help younger students.
I am currently studying Biology, Psychology and English Literature at Churston Ferrers Grammar School in the UK and have a strong passion for my studies.
I'm very much into my sport and exercise, I play wheelchair basketball for Plymouth Fusion and enjoy going to the gym a few times a week for how it makes me feel. I'm an overall advocate for all people (but particularly young people) taking care of their own physical and mental health through the right activities and approach to life.
Also, I enjoy playing music, mainly singing, as well as acting. I have performed in various shows and concerts in my school throughout the years which is something I really enjoy and a great way to boost my own confidence.
Finally, at the beginning of 2022, I began a YouTube channel with the aim of helping people start good habits (like that of studying) and build positive mindsets to approaching life in an enriching way.
