During GCSEs my strongest subjects were Maths and Science. During A levels my strongest my subjects were Maths and Chemistry. I believe I've always found those subjects interesting and simple to understand because of my approach to learning the more complex topics. And this is something I'd like to share as I understand how confusing and difficult it can for students to wrap their head around a subject when there are many other subjects to study for. Good tutoring doesn't require a specific approach, it depends on the learning pattern of the student, I've always studied in groups I understand some students may pick up certain topics through different explanations and examples to another student. My approach to tutoring would be whatever suits the students better, whether it's : explanations, examples, similar questions to the question they're struggling with. As a teenager I was lucky enough to receive tuition myself and it made a huge difference, so I really know how much of an advantage it gives.

Tutoring is my full-time job and has been for many years.

I'm a qualified science teacher and Head of Science based in London, who currently teaches in a secondary school to students aged 11-18. I usually start with the current topics that student is studying in the school and explain to the student that topic and related background knowledge. As I teach one to one, my pace is faster than school and we usually finish the topic in one or sometimes two classes. And then we do previous topics and I explain doubts on those topics. I usually do not teach students that they already know, instead, start topic wise past papers of the topics students feel he or she knows well.

I genuinely believe there is no better way to teach than to be relatable and reassuring. Being a student myself, I try my best to build a relationship with the student and help identify and conquer any issues lying within their subjects.

I'm truly passionate about tutoring being an older brother to two younger sisters who I've had to teach my whole life and I feel a great sense of purpose after every tutoring lesson!

I've received above GRADE 8 in all GCSE subjects in 2019 and received an A* in chemistry at A-Levels and A in Maths A-Levels.

I'm currently at the University of Sheffield studying Software Engineering.

Teaching Experience:
I've tutored four students during my gap year for 4 students consistently from November to May, helping my students build comfort and confidence in their subject choices. I've tutored both boys and girls aged 14-16 and they have achieved all grades 7+ in the subject I have tutored.

I especially like to help students who find themselves struggling with the subject on a more psychological level with their self-confidence and past experience. I have a passion for these subjects and wish to help others learn more about it.

Tutoring Approach:
I tend to start my tutoring with warm-up questions relating to the previous session as a mini tester for memory. To keep track of content during the session I tend to switch between teaching and worksheets, making sure the student doesn't feel like they're at boring old school again haha. Towards the end, I'll do a brief summary and tester questions on what we've learnt to do.

It also depends on where we are at during the school term where typically towards the end I will focus on past papers more and constantly redirect the students to more resources to help them.
