Hello! My name is Gemma and I am a 32 year old doctor, chartered accountant, strategy consultant and successful start up founder. I graduated in medicine from Nottingham University in 2016, switched to finance, became a qualified chartered accountant, and now work for one of the 'Big4' in health advisory and strategic consulting. The tutor is the expert in subject knowledge and learning but it is the tutee who has the paramount role in their own education and excelling in their subjects. Honest school teachers will tell you that it is the noisy and disruptive pupils that get their attention, whereas the quite shy hardworking pupils tend to get neglected. Busy school teachers just do not have the time or energy to devote to helping their quieter or weaker pupils and it is these pupils that especially benefit from extra personal tuition. On the other hand a brighter pupil may be so far ahead of his or her peers that the teacher is just not able to give them the attention they need. As the Head of Chemistry at a high-performing London Grammar School, I have a wealth of knowledge and experience in teaching Chemistry. I have 12 years of teaching practice at UK schools as well as online tuition. I have a PhD from Imperial College and have been working as a post-doctoral researcher in the field of cancer for 6 years prior to my teaching career.

I am passionate about helping students develop a love for Chemistry and achieve their academic goals.
