I have worked with many gifted children and those also who find education a challenge. I specialise in special needs especially dyslexia and Autism. After training as a teacher and the a medical doctor I find that my interest has remained in the education field and so am now to begin training as an Educational Psychologist with the Institute of Education, University of London.

My general approach to teaching is to enhance individual skills by providing an individual programme for the student. This allows the student to learn independently instead of the learning associated within schools of one size fits all. Unfortunately, this does not work with many children who need a structured individualised approach. I also work within the "We find this subject a challenge, not an impossibility" field; that is to say everything is positive concerning the tuition, and everyone can learn, its just they have not been taught in a way that they personally understand. At the beginning I like to get a feel for what level of knowledge students have, and together we set goals for what we wish to achieve (e.g. time remaining until the exam, what grade they wish to achieve, if there is any particular section they are struggling with, etc..). Preferably, I like to communicate with my students before the lesson, so we can decide what learning outcomes to focus on during our session, so we can both prepare beforehand.

Teaching Experience:
I teach GCSE & A-Level online science and English lessons that are centred around mastering exam technique and each student's areas for improvement.

I have 3+ years of online tutoring experience, both GCSE and A-Level Science and English.

As I have completed A-Levels in both chemistry and biology, and achieved an A grade, I have abundant revision resources and an in-depth understanding of revision tips and tricks (that I've picked up over the years!) that will enable your child to succeed in their science learning journey.

Tutoring Approach:
My lessons are customised to each student's needs and will cover the topics they struggle with clearly and in detail. Exam technique is key for excelling in science, and this is what we'll focus on in my lessons. I will enable students to apply the content they learn in the classroom to an exam setting, as well as cover any areas missed by their teachers.

I also teach GCSE and A-Level English Literature / Language online. My lessons will enable students to write with confidence and fluency, as well as be able to analyse texts in detail. My lessons are tailored around each student's strengths and areas for improvement. Having studied English Literature at A-Level, and achieved an A*, I have a unique insight into how good grades are achieved in English.
