I will always begin by discussing my tutee's individual requirements and areas of the syllabus they would like to focus on. Students may ask to recap concepts and theories that aren't fully understood, however in my experience most require help with exam technique, and how to translate their knowledge into a high grade answer. I therefore place a great emphasis on guiding students through the process of answering past paper questions, across all topic areas. In our sessions I will help with essay structure, illustrate how to use higher order analytical and evaluation skills, and crucially, how to apply an answer to information in a case study, or how to bring in real world examples.

Over the years I have taught an increasing proportion of students online, so that currently about 90% of my tutoring is done this way. I use Skype/Google Meet/Zoom and Google Docs, which students can also access. This makes the sessions as interactive as meeting face to face, and it also means I can tutor students from anywhere in the world (I have taught people in South Africa, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Spain, France, Serbia, Russia, Montenegro and Bermuda). "Matt only got an E grade in his February A2 mock exam and the school predicted he would get a C grade at A2. With the significant assistance from Ian, Matt achieved an A* at A2. Each student is different when it comes to learning. Some students enjoy 1 to 1 and some students love group learning. My approach is to create an individual style for each student and work with you to meet your learning needs.

The key to any success is READING and then having the opportunity to discuss the subject in detail to analyse the the debate.

In addition to this, it is important to develop skills and understanding of your subject area so that you are aware of the key areas of policy and theory and how theory is applied to policy in the real world.

I tailor my tutoring on how you wish to learn and I teach in a style that you ask for to create a truly personalised approach. To add value, I use fun and personalised assessment for learning techniques with a focus on your starting points. I have two children aged 10 and 14. I have an updated Enhanced DBS Certificate. I can supply feedback from my past and current tutees.

I believe that I can add at least two higher grade boundaries to your present results. My current tutees have all added at least one higher grade boundary with some adding 3 boundaries. All of them have improved by at least 2 grades within 3 months with a weekly session.

Teaching Experience:
I am a fully qualified teacher with 20 years experience at GCSE and A level (14 to 19 year olds), working in the UK and abroad. In addition, I have experience in financial guidance plus 3 years management of learning and assessment success in a quality standards role . I have previous roles as a teacher trainer, secondary school teacher and a tutor for special and gifted learners. I also have further experience as a GCSE and A Level examiner. All my resources are updated to meet any of the awarding body exams.

I was also a staff coach and teacher trainer for a full range of courses offered in the post 16 sector. I gained Employer of the Year in 2010 and in 2011 a Career Academy Honorary Alumni for outstanding contribution to Financial Service links between employers and young professionals.

As a private maths and science tutor my aim is to help students understand these subjects better and achieve exam success. My nature is calm and relaxed combined with a drive for accuracy and precision.

I have a degree in physics from Exeter University and a doctorate in physics from Manchester University as well as A levels in maths, physics and chemistry and a post-graduate business qualification.

My daughter, who graduated from Oxford University, is now an accountant in London and so I now live in Bollington with just my wife and black Labrador, Mabel.

Teaching Experience:
During the past year I have coached students for Maths A level, Physics A level, Chemistry A level, Maths GCSE and Biology GCSE.

Previously, during my academic career, I tutored many undergraduate science students. Subsequently I worked as a management consultant, explaining difficult technical concepts to a large number of diverse individuals.

Over the past three years I have brought my coaching skills to my role as a private tutor, helping young people with their GCSEs and A levels.

Hello, I am a UK qualified teacher and have had a very interesting career in the UK and overseas. I lived in Australia for 2 years where I gained an MBA. I worked in the Middle East for 5 years. For the past few years, I have been an on-line tutor for a Paris school, a Budapest school and many private A level, IB and undergraduate students.

I live in the countryside and enjoy walking my dog across the fields, watching Netflix and generally socialising with friends and family

I am trying to improve my French with Duo Lingo - an on-line resource learning platform. I am also going to learn some Arabic so that I can impress my son-in-law who is from Syria.

Teaching Experience:
My teaching experience has been gained in a wide range of educational establishments, in the UK and overseas. I taught in an international boarding school for many years and taught students for whom English was their second language. I taught business related subjects in the Middle East in the training department of a multi-national oil company. Prior to this I worked in schools and colleges in Wales and England.

More recently, I have been tutoring economics and business on-line, using a variety of platforms including Zoom and MS Teams

Tutoring Approach:
At our first meeting, I will assess your strengths and weaknesses so that I can draw up an individual learning plan for you. The first 15 minutes are free.

I find that most students are capable of learning the content of the GCSE or A level syllabus, can remember the main concepts, but struggle to write a coherent A grade essay. If this is your weakness, then I will focus on developing your essay writing skills and I have lots of resources which I use to do this.
I understand that some of the economics and business concepts can be quite complex and some of the diagrams challenging, so I will be very patient with you and will make sure you fully understand every topic in the syllabus. I will stretch and challenge you to make sure that you stay at the top of your game and I will use materials appropriate to your ability.

My main objective is to help students gain confidence and instil in them a 'can do' attitude. This is something that I believe I am good at. I get great job satisfaction when I see my students develop self-confidence and reach their full potential. I define myself as an introvert, enthusiastic about my subjects and organised. As a teacher, I prioritise relationship building and getting to know the students in front of me, the ones I teach.
I am organised and reliable when it comes to giving access to content taught or practice sheets and approachable.

Teaching Experience:
I have extensive experience in teaching, starting from 2018 when I first worked as an after school activity leader for a STEM business. I delivered these sessions mainly to primary school children year 5,6.
Further down the line I worked as a cover supervisor for a few years when I interacted with a range of different age groups ranging from 12 all the way to 18 year olds. I worked in all through SEN school before having also gained some experience with SEND children and young teenagers.
Furthermore in more recent years I worked with a summer school as a Business tutor where I taught international students Business concepts and applying these to a live Dragon's Den type of project. Lots to skills picked up here such as knowing how to interract with students that don't have English as their first language as well as bringing to the lessons a variety of brands that students can familiarise themselves with in the UK - for students who may wish to study in the UK, in future.

Tutoring Approach:
ever since starting tutoring my aim has always been to cater to the needs of the tutee.
i.e. I have tutored Spanish A level in the past so the aim here was to improve at grammar skills, therefore the focus of the tutoring sessions would mostly be on exam preparation questions, topics that may come up and then 15-2o mins of the session would focus on other areas such as speaking, listening, reading, writing.
I always offer the tutee to travel to them so it is all done in their own comfort.
As a person I am good at picking up on areas for development and find creative ways to bridge the gaps. I am very informal as a tutor and relaxed, flexible.
