I have been the Head of Accounting since 2006, at a large Catholic Sixth Form College in Hulme, Manchester. I am 46 years old, living in Didsbury, South Manchester. I gained my degree in Economics and Finance in 1998 from Leicester University. I began teaching in 2002 so have many years of experience teaching Accounting.

Teaching Experience:
I am currently Head of Economics in a highly successful inner London secondary school. I have taught for 10 years across various exam boards and also have experience as an A-Level examiner for AQA. I am a co-author for the most recent GCSE Economics workbook by published by Hodder Education.

One of my ambitions in life is to be a mentor for people I meet. I am passionate about empowering people and giving them the tools to achieve their objectives. I have been studying Arabic by myself for two years and by studying by myself, I believe I have an advantage over native speakers as I understand the struggles of a new language learners but more importantly, how to help overcome these challenges. I have a wealth of resources and knowledge that I will give to my students to give them confidence in learning Arabic. We would start with an initial assessment of the student ability and see whether they have done no Arabic or a little Arabic already. I would be open to using the students own resources and complement with my own.

I am both a qualified accountant and qualified teacher. I achieved an Honours Degree in Commerce from Napier (Edinburgh) and then was lucky enough to find an employer who would put me through my CIMA accountancy exams.

I worked as an accountant for 14 years, before making the decision to train as a secondary teacher (Business Education).

I have been teaching for 23 years - 20 years in secondary education and for the past 5 years I have been a College lecturer, teaching Accounting subjects from school to Degree level.

I have experience of working in one of the big 4 Accounting firms as well as industry as a qualified Accountant. Tutoring comes natural to me,with years of experience under my belt . I have done classroom teaching of A level students on a part time basis where i taught Accounting, i have also done one on one tutoring for subjects like Maths , English at primary level. I have experience teaching students from primary level from year 4 to year 11 up to A level as well as professional level.
