I approach tutoring different ways depending on who the student is. I ask them questions about themselves, hobbies, favourite subjects etc; and then using that to better understand how they learn, I talk to them about their private learning and revision and the method of approach to that and to exams. And then I teach them using the method appropriate to their style of learning. I also set plenty of work and get them to do past papers which I send to them in the first week. I then take these away and mark them in my own time and return with a deeper view of where they are going wrong after they have been taught. I do 2hr concentrated sessions either weekly or fornightly and have seen great results not only in grades but also in enthusiasm for learning. I am an American actor, director, producer and coach currently living in London.

As an actor, I've performed in regional theatres across the US including Cincinnati Playhouse, St. Louis Rep, The Alliance, Playmakers Rep, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, and The Old Globe. Before moving to London, she made her home in Colorado, working at various theatres across the state. She received Denver Post Ovation Awards for her work in ALL MY SONS at the Denver Center, and RABBIT HOLE at the Curious Theatre, as well as the 2012 Culture West "Best Season by an Actress" award and the 2013 Culture West "Best Supporting Actress" in STEEL MAGNOLIAS at Senior Housing Options.

I find that most students are capable of learning the content of the GCSE or A level syllabus, can remember the main concepts, but struggle to write a coherent A grade essay. I understand that some of the economics and business concepts can be quite complex and some of the diagrams challenging, so I will be very patient with you and will make sure you fully understand every topic in the syllabus. I will stretch and challenge you to make sure that you stay at the top of your game and I will use materials appropriate to your ability.

My main objective is to help students gain confidence and instil in them a 'can do' attitude. This is something that I believe I am good at. I get great job satisfaction when I see my students develop self-confidence and reach their full potential. This followed 19 years working in commercial roles in the fast moving consumer goods industry, after which I completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Business Education) at the University of Roehampton in London.
