I use regular feedback mechanisms which can include tests or assignments (from multiple choice questions to essay-type exam-style questions) to assess understanding and progress. There will always be questions at the end of a session in some form to check understanding.

Tutoring Approach:
I have been tutoring online since 2016 and do my tutoring using a virtual online classroom equipped with chat function, document/picture upload, graph function, math/science symbols etc and can be edited in real time - writing, typing, drawing.

We can upload past papers, do interactive quizzes, watch YouTube videos and much more.

My sessions are completely interactive. I have a whiteboard on which we can both upload documents, make notes, drawings, etc. You can also save parts of the board or all of it at the end of the session. We would use Zoom for audiovisuals.

I typically work with exam style questions after a short session of teaching/revision, but I can focus more one way depending on your needs. I am a PhD student, undertaking my doctorate in Environmental Sciences, with a focus on soil nutrient cycling and nutrient transport to surface and ground waters. I completed my BSc in Physical Geography at the University of Exeter and gained first class honours in this.

Teaching Experience:
I carried out teacher training at a basic level with the University of Exeter in order to participate in the Students Associates Scheme. After this training I spent three weeks in a local secondary school where I actively participated in Geography and Religious Studies lessons, and was able to provide work plans for higher and lower achieving students. I have taught both Foundation and Higher level GCSE and have experience teaching SEN students.

Tutoring Approach:
I am an energetic person who loves to be creative while teaching. I would approach teaching in different ways so I can ascertain the best approach for the tutee. We will focus on content, exam questions using examiner reports and past papers, and revision techniques. I like to keep a positive vibe during sessions, so that the person feels good about themselves and what they are learning.
