I have a degree in Physics from the University of Nottingham and have taught Science in schools for over 8 years. I have a wide variety of teaching experience, from teaching English as a foreign language to a small group of 6 year olds, to teaching A level Physics in college. I love teaching and especially enjoy seeing students progress, become more confident and gain a real interest and love of the subject.

I offer one-to-one tuition in maths, biology, chemistry, physics and combined science. One-to-one tutoring is a great way for students to become more confident in their subject, and to ask all those questions they don't ask in class. My graduate degree is in chemistry, while I also have a doctorate in medical molecular genetics and a teaching qualification.

Teaching Experience:
I have fourteen years' experience as a tutor and have tutored over 200 students in maths, chemistry, biology and physics. My students include home-schooled students and students who self-study.

I tutor maths at various levels, from Functional Skills to GCSE and chemistry, biology, physics and combined science at GCSE level.

My approach to tutoring is different for every student because every student requires support with different sections of the curriculum. Students studying for an exam may need help with subject content or exam technique, or both, while students who are not in exam years may need support with topics addressed in class. I plan the tutoring sessions around those needs and always with the individual student in mind, which is why the sessions are different for every student. I have experience in meeting the needs of neurodivergent students. I very much value input from the student with regard to areas of difficulty and learning style so that together we can get the most out of our time. I offer in-person and online tuition.

I recently completed a PhD in Bioengineering at Imperial College London, carrying out mathematical research on heart disease. My first degree was in Maths at the same university, and I took a Masters in Biomedical Research in between.

I attended both a state school and a top boarding school and am comfortable to cover topics on and off the standard syllabus.

I found Ahmad very helpful for exam question practice, which is the main thing he focuses on rather than explaining content, unless you get a question wrong because you don't know the information. RESOURCES PROVIDED TO STUDENTS: (i) succinct and colourful summary sheets on a per topic basis, the content of which is tailored to the mark schemes (ii) past paper question booklets on a per topic basis (iii) past paper answer booklets of ALL questions from 1997 to the present year (iv) uploaded videos per topic to aid understanding (v) uploaded learning log resources for extra reading (vi) relevant summarised BBC News reports per topic (vii) detailed PowerPoints per topic to broaden knowledge and instill enthusiasm beyond specification content. These are useful, when combined with learning logs, for university interviews. I share these resources via Google Drive so students need to have an account set up.

I have 10 years experience of teaching and tutoring at all levels up to university (lecturer for 5 years) and have all 5 star feedback. My tutees get great results (93% As and A*s this year) and most importantly, show outstanding improvements in both understanding and confidence.

I am really passionate about science and teaching: during my academic career, I have been fortunate enough to have plenty of opportunities to combine the two at a variety of levels. I come from a very large family and have been involved in work with children from a young age - from riding instructor to homework 'buddy' and in the last 10 years tutoring and teaching. Tutoring Approach:
The foundation of my approach is to building confidence and enthusiasm in my pupils. I use a combination of exam questions and structured sessions. This allows the student to become familiar and comfortable with the format of questions, and to more easily identify what the examiner is asking. It also allows me to focus the effort on where there are gaps in the knowledge or understanding.

I left school with one A* grade, six A grades and four B's. A's being in English, Biology and Geography. I was also a prefect in school chosen for my level of drive.

During sixth form I was a student mentor where I helped GCSE students with their upcoming exams and acted as a person of support and welfare. I studied law achieving an A*, sociology achieving an A and psychology achieving a B grade.

I'm currently a third year psychology student at the University of Birmingham. During my time at university I have gained an in depth background knowledge in psychology including child and educational psychology. Learning how to learn is important for everyone and I can help students build their own study skills , developing both abilities and confidence. My own love for learning is evidenced by my hobbies which extend from sailing through to singing, piano, camping and walking and even the piano accordion. I am an experienced tutor who has been tutoring for the last 25 years. I teach from KS3 to A levels, Maths, Chemistry and Physics.
I started my career as a Chemical Engineer and completed my PhD in that subject.
In Industry I have worked on Polymers, Pharmaceuticals and ceramics. I have designed towers using principles of Maths and Science and have been able to work out, how long it will take a ceramic to reach a temperature inside a furnace.
I have also worked on Pharmaceuticals and in particular enzymatic reactors and their Mathematical modelling. I also carried out calculation on diffusion through membranes.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching for some 25 years on a one to one basis and to groups. All my students end up in getting admission to a University of their choice and a course to their liking. At the moment I am doing online tutoring. Online tutoring has many benefits which includes cost and the comfort of learning in familiar surroundings. . Online teaching has many positive aspects as compared to a traditional classroom.

I start by assessing the student in terms of present standard and academic potential. Once I have found out the level, I then collaborate with the parent or guardian to set targets.
