Honest school teachers will tell you that it is the noisy and disruptive pupils that get their attention, whereas the quite shy hardworking pupils tend to get neglected. My lessons focus on exam technique and effective study habits, two vital components of academic success. I teach students how to use evidence-based techniques such as active recall and spaced repetition to effectively retain information and review it strategically throughout the year.

I provide all students with specialised notes, revision questions, and exam questions tailored to their exam board, free of charge. In addition, assessments are provided every 4-6 weeks to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

But my commitment to my students goes beyond the "hour slot." I am available to answer questions and provide support via phone, email, and messaging. And I never clock-watch during lessons. I am fortunate to have also acquired a team and network of private tutors and professionals from many diverse fields and careers, all of which are happy to offer tuition and mentoring if necessary.
As the pandemic has changed the way we approach education, I have adapted my teaching methods to ensure continuity of learning for my students. Since COVID-19, I have accrued over 300 hours of online teaching and mentoring experience via Zoom and Microsoft Teams, providing a safe and convenient way for students to learn from the comfort of their own homes.

With digital copies of all teaching resources, including notes, homework booklets, and question papers, I am fully equipped to provide a comprehensive and engaging learning environment for my pupils. Having finished my PhD at the University of Cambridge, I am now a qualified European Patent Attorney in Life Sciences and Biotechnology. I am also a Founder and CEO at a number of start-up companies.

Tutoring Approach:
Every student is different and my teaching style is adapted to their individual needs once we have identified their weaknesses.

I believe understanding is the best approach to learning and teaching. There's no point in just memorising things if you don't understand where they came from. I explain things in such a way that it is easy to understand, and I am very patient.

However, I cannot perform miracles. Students aiming for top grades would be expected to do some homework in between sessions.

I also offer a lot of flexibility. If the student has learnt something in school they didn't quite understand, I can go over the topic again with them during our lesson. If the student understood everything in school, I can teach them new topics to prepare them for when they learn that topic in school. Lastly, near exam times, I can offer intense exam revision and exam paper practice.
