After completing my D.Phil from the University of Oxford, I worked for 7 years as a Senior Biologist for a small drug discovery company where I was responsible for screening new drug targets in tissue models for human disease. Over the years I've had so many comments from students/colleagues about my ability to break subjects down to ease understanding, and coupled with my passion for science and sharing that with others I decided to change career and become a full-time science tutor. Growing up, I've always been a visual learner; I understand that textbooks aren't always enough. I've used this to my advantage to turn it into my greatest teaching strength: I use my iPad to make every session interactive.I do this by breaking down complex topics with live diagrams, graphs, and real-life examples to break down exactly how a concept works. I also use the 'I do, we do, you do' approach to help build a genuine understanding of the topic. First, I model exactly how to tackle a high-mark exam question. Next, we collaborate on a second question and work through the steps required together. Finally, I let the student take the lead on their own, allowing them to apply their new skills with their own knowledge.

For many years now, I have found great joy and passion in teaching and mentoring. Teaching Experience:
As an experienced mentor and tutor, I have helped numerous pupils achieve academic success and pursue their dreams of becoming medical professionals. Over the course of 7 years, I have dedicated over 250 hours to tutoring challenging concepts in GCSE Maths and Science, as well as A Level Biology and Chemistry.

As the pandemic has changed the way we approach education, I have adapted my teaching methods to ensure continuity of learning for my students. Since COVID-19, I have accrued over 300 hours of online teaching and mentoring experience via Zoom and Microsoft Teams, providing a safe and convenient way for students to learn from the comfort of their own homes.
