H
Ellie is a wonderful Chemistry tutor and has always gone above and beyond to help me. I appreciate how she is able to make Chemistry simple and easy to understand. Ellie is a very positive and lovely person, well organised and is always prepared to help me in whatever way I need so I definitely recommend Ellie as a Chemistry tutor.
N
Ellie has been tutoring my children for the last 7 years. My children admired the way she taught, they really enjoyed her lessons and the results they achieved in the end would not have been possible without Ellie. I highly recommend Ellie for anyone who is struggling with Biology or Chemistry or needs help with exam technique. Thank you very much Ellie for all your support over the years, you are the best tutor I have ever worked with.

A Level Chemistry

M
Absolutely fantastic tutor. Ellie is enthusiastic and explains concepts in a way that my son was able to understand. He went from a D in his first chemistry assessment test for A levels before starting with Ellie, to an A in his next test! His confidence in his abilities grew enormously with her help. Thank you Ellie
S
All that I can say is that Ellie is fantastic. When she was teaching myself and my brother A Level Chemistry, she always gave short, concise explanations of concepts in a way that we easily understood. Also, she gave us past paper questions after each topic so that we had plenty of practice at exam technique. She marked these and sent us feedback on what to improve on. This meant that when it came around to do our exams, we were fully prepared for them and confident that we could do well. During lockdown, she was very flexible as she either had online lessons with us or set us exam papers that she marked and sent back to us with details on how to improve. Ellie's tutoring gave us routine Chemistry revision that alleviated pressure and allowed us to balance our time on other A Level subjects. We are very grateful to have had such an amazing tutor who was always cheerful and upbeat. Thank you! -S and S.

T
My daughter needed an A level chemistry tutor. We had other tutors but I would firstly say my daughter was very particular about the type of tutor she wanted . She wanted someone very knowledgeable and someone to help tackle exam questions. My daughter is quite shy and due to her teacher at school had lost confidence. When my daughter had her first lesson with Ellie, she knew she was the right type of tutor. Ellie instantly put my child at ease. Ellie is extremely knowledgeable and knows and knows exactly how to adapt to the style of teaching she required. My child gained confidence and improved greatly. I couldn't recommend Ellie enough. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending her to anyone. She is absolutely brilliant.
A
Ellie is such an amazing tutor and has helped my daughter so much with her A-Level Chemistry. She has a reassuring and supportive approach that immediately puts you at ease and makes each session both educational and enjoyable. She is extremely organised, with well planned sessions, ensuring she sends through any useful material or questions in advance of the session. Her understanding of the curriculum and marking scheme, coupled with her brilliant ability to explain topics in detail and with patience, gave my daughter so much more confidence in going into her A-Levels and I'm sure her results will reflect this. Ellie is by far the best tutor we have ever used and we're so grateful for all her help. I couldn't recommend her more highly.
H
Ellie has taught my son for the last four years, through GCSE and A levels and prior to this she tutored my elder son too. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for high quality Chemistry tuition. Ellie is outstanding- her knowledge of the syllabus, teaching styles tailored to individual needs and understanding of the requirements for examination answers as an examiner but more importantly the encouragement and recognition of your child's strength have the greatest impact in building their self belief, especially in the challenges of the last year!

R
Ellie is fully equipped in her lessons such as allowing her students to attempt past paper questions after going through a topic. This gives her students a great opportunity to achieve well in their exams. I would highly recommend.
K
We asked Ellie as she'd already come highly recommend by friends. She has been instrumental in deepening my son's grasp of chemistry A level and undoubtedly made all the difference in his gaining an A grade. Excellent communication with us about his progress and the areas he needed to focus on. Such a lovely lady too, a gem!
A
Given the step up in difficulty of the new linear Aqa A Level chemistry course, I couldn't have been happier with the tutoring and support Ellie gave my son. She is extremely knowledgeable and very organised ensuring all topics are covered, setting sufficient homework and practise papers to reinforce the theories to be learnt. More importantly she is a hugely encouraging and friendly person who made my son feel confident in his own abilities. She goes the extra mile and provides excellent feedback after marking homework or practise papers so my son could see where he went wrong. Messages of support before each exam highlight Ellie's caring side and her desire for her students to do well. Having 2 family bereavements during my sons exams demonstrated the depth of Ellie's teaching allowing him to still achieve his A grade under very upsetting and difficult circumstances. We were so proud he was able to secure his place at university for medicine. So impressed was I with Ellie I recommended her to 3 other parents. I know those students achieved an A grade and 2 A* grades respectively. Ellie is an amazing tutor who really does deliver results. I cannot recommend her highly enough!!
A
Ellie has tutored my daughter for the last two years. My daughter went from being worried about studying A-level Chemistry to being confident and achieving great results; through Ellie's caring nature, in depth knowledge, and hard work. She is a fantastic tutor and I highly recommend her.

M
Ellie was an amazing tutor she really gave me confidence and helped me achieve the grade I wanted, which was a B. I couldn't have done it without her help. She was happy to help with any questions even outside of the lesson and made me enjoy chemistry. Thanks Ellie x
A
Highly recommend!!! Ellie has genuinely been the best chemistry teacher I have had, she is also an examiner which is a great help as her knowledge is always up to date not only with content but also exam questions and mark schemes. She explains the chemistry in as much detail as you need as opposed to the majority of teachers who focus more on memorisation and wrote learning. So you have a good understanding (which is the best teaching style as exam questions can require a lot of application.) Ellie is also extremely kind and understanding, she has offered so much support from a mental health perspective. She truly goes above and beyond for her
students :)
R
Ellie has given M the confidence in A Level chemistry, and has encouraged M to work hard and do well in this subject. Ellie had given M additional help via her topic questions booklet ensuring that M is able to understand the topics thoroughly, and she has enjoyed the subject overall alot due to her extra lessons with Ellie. I am very grateful to Ellie for all her hard work and help for the last two years.
D
I am delighted to provide a reference for Ellie , who tutored my daughter in A
Level Chemistry. She is an experienced and highly knowledgeable tutor who consistently demonstrated a positive and encouraging approach. Ellie explained complex topics clearly and thoroughly, ensuring my daughter understood each concept before moving on. Lessons were always well- prepared and thoughtfully tailored to suit her individual learning style and needs. Thanks to her support, my daughter made significant progress and gained much more confidence in the subject. I would highly recommend Ellie to any student seeking expert and personalised chemistry tuition.

T
I had the pleasure of being tutored by Ellie for the duration of my Year 13 Chemistry. This was imperative to me eventually scoring a Grade A in my A level chemistry. She is an incredible tutor as shown by my grade especially considering I got a C in my Year 12 mock examination. Ellie was always super kind to me and if i ever needed help outside of my lessons with her, she would always send it. Ellie is an incredibly understanding person and will work out every question at your pace building your confidence. I 100% recommend Ellie as a tutor! Thank you Ellie for all your help !

Ellie has been a very caring and helpful chemistry tutor, without her i wouldn't have the grades I have achieved now, and thanks to her help I have improved massively. Ellie has constantly been patient and understanding with me, even when i have found myself overwhelmed with exams or even don't understand something, she has always been very supportive and encouraging to carry on. Ellie has made learning chemistry so much easier to learn and i looked forward to our lessons every week. thank you Ellie! Love R xxxx

C
Ellie has been working with my daughter in GCSE Biology and Chemistry. She is such a great teacher and was able to engage with my daughter in such a way that she felt supported and believed in her own ability. Ellie has great in depth knowledge in the syllabus and armed with focussed exam questions and answers for her students. I would highly recommend Ellie, she is an amazing tutor and a really lovely person.
D
Ellie is an excellent chemistry and biology tutor - she helped two of our children achieve great GCSE grades. She is patient and uses her outstanding knowledge about content and exam technique to explain the most challenging aspects of the sciences in a clear and memorable way. We 100% recommend Ellie as she will bring the best out of any student regardless of their initial grasp of the sciences.
S
I think Ellie is really helpful in all aspects of biology and chemistry. This is because I always understand a topic after Ellie has taught it to me. Also she gives lots of helpful exam practice so I can apply all the knowledge I have been taught so my tests always went well. I always knew the information inside out because Ellie tests me and makes sure I know a certain topic before moving on.
S
Ellie is a great tutor! She really went into detail about what the specification covers and thoroughly explained areas I was less confident in. Ellie's also very organised and did plenty of past papers with me. She made revision more enjoyable and helped me improve in my ability to answer exam style questions
R
Hi Ellie, R got 9s in both Biology and Chemistry. We're obviously very pleased. Thank you so much for all your help over the past two years.

L
Ellie has been my gcse and alevel tutor for chemistry and I cannot recommend her more highly. She is patient and explains all elements really clearly and gives you the confidence to believe you can achieve a grade much higher than you originally thought!
A
Ellie has really helped me to understand topics I wasn't not confident in. She is patient and able to explain through notes with illustrations in detail to ensure I built on my knowledge. I would recommend Ellie to any students 5*
M
My twins have just taken their GCSE chemistry. They were tutored by Ellie who reinforced the difficult concepts now covered by the new GCSE syllabus. Throughout Ellie has been patient, approachable and friendly and is excellent at explaining, she also went through a lot of exam papers which boosted their confidence. Both want to take A level chemistry and have asked if Ellie can can continue as their tutor which I feel is the best recommendation someone can get.
Y
Ellie has been amazing at teaching chemistry, she has helped me understand concepts which I couldn't acquire from school. She is so good at explaining and teaching all the correct exam techniques which have been so helpful in the exam.
S
Ellie has been fantastic. She's inspired S with confidence and clear understanding. Thanks for everything
J
Ellie is both an experienced and knowledgeable tutor and a really lovely person. She has been helping my family this year with GCSE and A level exam preparation after all the school Covid disruption. L

Thanks for everything Ellie -YOU are amazing !
J
I can't recommend Ellie enough. Her communication is clear, patient and
encouraging. She knows how to meet you where you are and help to build your confidence. Anyone who works with her is in great hands.

J
Ellie is such a calm and patient person who teaches in a very easy to understand way. Our son came on leaps and bounds with Ellie's tutoring & achieved strong GCSE grades in Science. He really enjoyed her sessions which is surely a sign of a great tutor!
A
Ellie helped my daughter T to pass all three sciences. T enjoyed the tuition and feels that without Ellie's support she would not have gotten the grades achieved . I would heartily recommend to anybody

Personal Description:
Online and in person tuition available!

A little bit about me: I have my own tutoring business which I am currently running during my maternity leave. I am a University of Surrey MSci Biochemistry (Master of Science) graduate. Have completed half of my PGCE in secondary science teaching and currently on maternity leave. I have 10 years experience in teaching having taught over 100 students in the last 4 years. I am young and energetic whilst being knowledgable in most curriculums from pre-school all the way up to A- level.
*** PLEASE NOTE: I offer a consultation either in the student's home, online or over the phone. ***

Teaching Experience:

As a secondary school science teacher with over 10 years of tutoring experience and my own tutoring business, I tailor my lessons to everyone of students specifically. I approach teaching with a relaxed attitude where the student can really make the most out of every session without feeling bored or uncomfortable. I keep the sessions as interactive as possible and my teaching styles can be changed to suit every learning style!

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor every single lesson to every single individual I teach. My forte is teaching students without stressing, boring or tiring them. Most of my students repeat the comment "I can`t believe it is the end of the session, it went by so quickly!"; which is due to the fact that I make my lessons as engaging and fun as possible whilst not compromising on time or amount of content. Not many tutors are able to build a good relationship with their students by showing them they care about the individual rather than just each session. I LOVE teaching which is why I have not left the industry since I started. I can provide references from other parents/students proving to you how happy they have been with my service. I will not guarantee your child will achieve an A* in any given subject as that is also up to the student but I can guarantee that I will teach them as much as they can learn and make the lessons we have as fun, engaging and informative as possible.

Please Note: A surcharge will incur if I need to travel to you depending on distance. I have a fully enhanced DBS check (former CRB).

Personal Description:
I am an experienced College Lecturer, qualified teacher, and PhD researcher with over eight years of teaching experience helping students achieve success in Maths, Science, and Computer Science.

I hold a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Software Engineering from Kingston University, a Master's degree in Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence (Distinction), and I am currently undertaking a PhD in Artificial Intelligence. I am also a qualified teacher through Liverpool John Moores University and have completed the National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML).

Throughout my career, I have taught learners from Year 7 through to university level, including GCSE, A-Level, BTEC, T Level, HNC, HND, and undergraduate students. As a College Lecturer, I have extensive experience preparing students for examinations, coursework, programming projects, and university assignments.

My specialist subjects include:

• GCSE and A-Level Mathematics
• GCSE Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
• GCSE, A-Level, and University Computer Science
• Programming (Python, Visual Basic, C#)
• Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
• BTEC, T Level, HNC, and HND Computing

My lessons are tailored to each student's needs and learning style. I focus on building confidence, strengthening subject knowledge, improving exam techniques, and helping students achieve their academic goals. I provide clear explanations, structured learning materials, past paper practice, and regular feedback to monitor progress.

Students and parents often describe me as approachable, patient, reliable, and supportive. My aim is not only to help students achieve higher grades but also to develop their confidence and enjoyment of learning.

Whether you are preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels, university assignments, or seeking additional support in STEM subjects, I would be delighted to help you achieve your full potential.

Teaching Experience:

I have over eight years of teaching experience across secondary, further education, and higher education settings. Throughout my career, I have taught students from Year 7 through to university level, supporting learners with a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and learning needs.

My teaching experience covers Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Business Studies, Computer Science, Information Technology, Programming, Data Analysis, Artificial Intelligence, and Software Development. I have successfully prepared students for GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, BTEC, T Level, HNC, HND, and undergraduate qualifications across the AQA, OCR, and Pearson Edexcel examination boards.

I currently work as a Computer Science and Digital Technology Lecturer at a college in Wigan, where I teach Level 2 and Level 3 learners, as well as Higher National students. My responsibilities include lesson planning, curriculum development, assessment and feedback, student progress monitoring, and preparing learners for examinations, coursework, and industry-focused projects.

In addition to my classroom teaching, I have extensive experience providing one-to-one and small-group tuition. I have helped students improve their confidence, develop effective study skills, strengthen exam technique, and achieve higher grades in STEM subjects.

My teaching approach focuses on making complex topics easy to understand through clear explanations, practical examples, structured resources, and personalised support tailored to each learner's individual needs.

Tutoring Approach:

Every student learns differently, and I tailor my lessons to suit each learner's individual needs, strengths, and learning style. My aim is to build confidence, develop subject knowledge, and help students achieve their academic goals through clear explanations and structured learning.

I specialise in breaking down complex topics into simple, easy-to-understand steps, helping students gain confidence in areas they may previously have found challenging. Whether a learner is aiming to improve their understanding, prepare for examinations, or achieve higher grades, I provide patient and supportive guidance throughout the process.

My lessons are highly interactive and designed to encourage active participation, critical thinking, and problem-solving. I regularly check understanding throughout each session to ensure students remain engaged and make consistent progress.

To support learning, I provide a wide range of carefully selected resources, including lesson notes, PowerPoint presentations, knowledge organisers, exam techniques, specification guidance, past papers, practice questions, and marking scheme analysis. This enables students to develop both subject knowledge and examination skills.

I believe that confidence is the foundation of academic success. My goal is not only to help students achieve excellent results but also to develop independent learners who feel motivated, capable, and prepared for future challenges.

In addition to one-to-one tuition, I also offer small-group sessions where learners can benefit from collaborative learning and peer discussion in a supportive environment. Group tuition is available for KS3 Maths and Triple Science (£20 per student for a 2-hour session) and KS4 GCSE Maths, Triple Science, and Computer Science (£25 per student for a 2-hour session). A minimum of five students is required for group classes.

Personal Description:
⭐ Tutoring for more than 10 years in English, Maths and the Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, & Physics)
⭐ MSc in Positive Psychology; tutored and mentored students from all backgrounds including shy/anxious/introverted/SEN students
⭐ I believe in a well-rounded holistic education; not just passing exams; every student I have worked with has improved their grade(s) and grown in confidence

Below you can find more information about my tutoring experience, approach, and what parents have said about my tutoring.

Teaching Experience:

Since 2010, I have been tutoring English, Maths and the individual Sciences; Biology, Chemistry & Physics.

I have taught at both primary- and secondary-school levels, with my students ranging between the ages of 6 and 16.

I can also help with entrance examinations for secondary school (including verbal and non-verbal reasoning), and I have provided mentorship and coaching when it comes to UCAS application forms, personal statements and CV writing.

Whilst I enjoyed some of the subjects at school, certain subjects and topics (including Maths!) didn't come naturally to me. I achieved 7A*s and 5As at GCSE and studied Maths, Biology & Chemistry at A-Level.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology and my tutoring approach is a student-centred one. My experience covers tutoring, mentoring and coaching and I use a combination of the three in my work.

I am yet to come across a student who doesn't possess the potential to improve. More often than not, it is the large class sizes at school, or a teacher whose approach isn't the right fit, which explains why a student doesn't understand a particular subject, or particular topics within that subject.

Through the 1-to-1 work I do with students, not only have I witnessed some remarkable grade improvements but also some amazing transformations in confidence. I strongly feel that the work I do is more than merely improving grades for exams.

⭐ My philosophy is that if you are struggling with a particular subject or topic, it's not your fault and there's nothing wrong with you. It simply means you've not been taught in a way that makes sense to you (or you've not been given the time and attention to be taught properly - in a big class and with the pressures on teachers to deliver an extensive curriculum).

⭐ I'm based near Twickenham/Teddington/Kingston and offer tutoring in-person and online (my preference is in-person where possible, as this tends to work best for the tutoring relationship and the outcomes that can be achieved).

⭐ Please note: I can only take on a limited number of students, so you're encouraged to apply early before spaces fill up.

Here are some of the references and messages I have received from parents and students:

"Hi Jas - Alfie got 3 B's for each of his sciences! He only just missed an A for Chemistry. He is absolutely delighted... Thank you for all your help - there is no doubt it made a huge difference to him. You were a total star to him - and the summer has been good to him - his confidence is finally starting to improve & I think it's a lot down to your encouragement and believing in him.
- Kris H. (parent)

"Jas has tutored our daughter for the last few months in Chemistry, Biology and Physics at GCSE level. Jas was very reliable, committed and enthusiastic in his role and we feel our daughter greatly benefitted from his tutoring. He was always encouraging and recognising her needs were beyond the academic, spent time developing her confidence in the academic subjects he was teaching her as well as also encouraging her self-belief. He appeared sensitive to her needs and adapted the work accordingly. Jas also demonstrated great insight in what motivated our daughter and went out of his way to make every session engaging and enjoyable. Jas also developed a positive, professional relationship with both my husband and I, keeping us well informed about our daughter's progress and what support we could give her. I feel that this wider, more holistic approach, really helped our daughter feel better about herself, as well as develop a positive approach towards her exams which she has now entered with considerably more knowledge and confidence than had she not worked with him. I also recommended Jas to a friend who's son was also doing his GCSE's and she told me how pleased they were with the help he had been able to give to him. I would have no hesitation in recommending Jas to others who are looking for GCSE tutoring."
- Emma & Paul G. (parents)

"Jas tutored my son Nathan for his Chemistry and German GCSEs in 2013. I found him to be a reliable and conscientious young man and I was very happy with his services."
- Sally C. (parent)

"Jas has helped Daniel enormously with his maths and science over the past few months in preparation for the upcoming GCSE's. He is a charming and good humored person who Daniel relates to quite well which made the two hours tuition every Saturday morning not such a chore! Both Daniel and I, as a parent, would certainly recommend Jas to any future students."
- Denise S. (parent)

Jas has been tutoring both my children in preparation for their 11+ exams. Both Oliver and Sofia love Jas and they benefited immensely from his caring passionate and professional tutoring system. I would never hesitate to ask Jas to help both my children again if they encounter difficulties in any subject or helping them again getting ready for common entrance exams. In a nutshell, having had previous experiences with various tutors, I would strongly recommend him to anyone, as I already have done.

"I first met Jas when I was looking for a maths tutor for my 9 year old daughter. Upon reading his profile I warmed instantly to his holistic and person-centred approach. My daughter is a quiet girl and having not had a tutor before I wanted someone who could inspire her and increase her confidence. The tutoring sessions went extremely well from the start and Jas was able to build a positive relationship with Lana. He is an excellent communicator and was very engaging with not only Lana but the rest of the family. He tailored the sessions to Lana's academic needs but also took into her account her thoughts and feelings. This enabled them to work in partnership together which really helped build Lana's confidence. Jas was also very reliable and gave feedback that was positive and motivational.
I would highly recommend Jas to work with young people as he seems to understand their needs by listening and working with them in partnership. Working in this way lets the young person/child build a relationship that is based on mutual trust instead of an authoritarian relationship in which the young person/child feels that can't have any input."
- Nicky S. (parent)

"Jas is an amazing teacher and works exceedingly well with kids from any age group. He is very patient and lets children take their own time on things they find difficult and challenging. If children get stressed about stuff he will let them have a little break and talk about other things in life. Jas is very encouraging and motivates kids to try their hardest at every single subject in maths."
- Lana S. (student)

"Jas has been tutoring my son in all three science topics for preparation for Winchester Admission Examinations for Year 9. He is professional, courteous and reliable. He established an excellent rapport with my son and despite the intensity of preparation required, he managed to maintain my son's motivation throughout the 18 month period, which was not a easy thing to achieve. As the standard required to pass these exams was a very high (beyond ISEB Common Entrance), this was a very stressful and intense period for us all. Jas understood that there needed to a balance between work sessions and relaxation sessions - and he always made time to talk to my son about things other than just study topics which minimised stress and tension. My son appreciated Jas's guidance and advice and enjoyed the fact that Jas showed a keen interest in his hobbies. The result was that my son always looked forward to his sessions, even though they were hard work. He is also delighted to be off to Winchester College in September!"

Personal Description:
My Profile:

Graduated from Leeds University in Genetics and have a deep passion for science. After leaving University, I have worked in the Computing and IT industry to Project Manager level, mainly for large blue chip financial companies such as General Accident (now Aviva), Standard Life, Bank of Scotland, GE Corporate and others. In 2004 I decided to return to my original love of science and gained a PGCE teaching qualification to teach science.

It is my aim to transfer my passion and love for science to my students as well as an understanding of the subject in order to enable them to AIM HIGHER and ace their exams.

Building on my science qualification, I gained a PGCE teaching qualification from Huddersfield University to become a qualified teacher of science in 2005. Following the successful completion of the PGCE, I rapidly achieved the position of Programme Manager and gained extensive experience of teaching Biology, Chemistry, Physics, BTEC Applied Sciences (Medical Science, Forensic Science, Health and Social Care), Access to Nursing, Access for Medical Professionals and Foundation Degree (Biology). The teaching experience has been in schools, Sixth Form Colleges and Further Education Colleges in Warrington, Leeds and Manchester.

Teaching Experience:

I have been providing select 1 to 1 private tuition in all areas including English, Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Media Studies and Physics.

I am able to tutor from primary, secondary (including entrance exams) through GCSE, A Levels, BTEC (Level 2 and Level 3) and Adult Foundation Degree level.

Tutoring Approach:

The tutor is the expert in subject knowledge and learning but it is the tutee who has the paramount role in their own education and excelling in their subjects. I firmly believe that the role of a tutor is that of a catalyst and the child's role in their own learning is of greater importance. I aim to guide the tutee to learn in a structured manner that so that the child does not waste their time jumping from topic to topic, randomly browsing a bit here and a bit there, as often happens. To do that, as tutor, I will facilitate their learning on a 1 to 1 basis so that they may gain a deeper and greater depth of knowledge of the subject. I will provide the subject knowledge expertise and transfer my knowledge to the tutee in a manner and at a level that is appropriate to the tutee but pushing them beyond their limits to the next stage. To achieve that grade "A*" a GCSE tutee should be able to understand basic AS Level material. For an A Level tutee to achieve the highest grades at A Level they should be able to cope with University first year material with ease. It is my aim to enable my tutees to achieve these goals.

I will work to improve the child's self esteem, self belief and confidence in their ability to do well. As a trained hypnotherapist I am particularly qualified to boost a child's self-esteem. Once the tutee is confident in their subject knowledge, then we will work on exam techniques and exam practice in order to enable the tutee to ace the exams and significantly improve their grades.

I will work with each tutee on an individual basis and adjust the tuition lessons to their needs. There is no standard one size fits all model with me. Homework will be set to enable the subject matter to be reinforced with some self-learning at home. Exam practice will be key to enable the tutee to become proficient in their exams and achieve the highest grades. Exam technique contributes significantly towards exam success. We will always work to enable the tutee to AIM HIGHER.

I am also able to guide sixth formers with their UCAS applications and personal statements.

At all times parents will be involved with the learning of their child so that they may guide and support their child's education and monitor progress. Parental involvement is also a major factor in the child's success.

For the science lessons my aim is to include as much practical work as is possible, where this is feasible in a tuition setting, keeping safety of the child of paramount importance.

If your child is quiet and shy or is in a mediocre class or is just coasting along or is struggling to achieve the grades required to get into the University course of their choice, whether it is Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacology, Engineering, Computing, Optometry or other science course, then tuition with myself will enable them to boost their grades and give them the advantage that they need. Honest school teachers will tell you that it is the noisy and disruptive pupils that get their attention, whereas the quite shy hardworking pupils tend to get neglected. Busy school teachers just do not have the time or energy to devote to helping their quieter or weaker pupils and it is these pupils that especially benefit from extra personal tuition. On the other hand a brighter pupil may be so far ahead of his or her peers that the teacher is just not able to give them the attention they need. A good tutor will help guide tutees who want to learn to get ahead and avoid becoming disinterested or bored. Why leave it to chance?

It is never too early to start boosting a child's education. For primary school children it is important that they get a good start to their education and do not lag behind. A tuition boost will enable them to get into a better school or a higher stream set so that they do not have to struggle or get left behind when the come to do their GCSE and A Levels.

I also have experience of vocational courses such as the BTEC and Applied Science courses and I am able to provide the additional guidance and support required to ensure that your child achieves Distinctions rather than passes in their assignments. It is not my policy to do the tutee's coursework for them but to help, guide and support their research and provide constructive feedback.

Tutees will be required to complete all assessments and homework on time in advance of the relevant lesson.

Personal Description:
I'm a second year biomedical science student. I took my A-Levels in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics in 2019 and GCSEs in 2017 and having recently done these exams, I know just how challenging they are.

Being a student myself and having the experience of currently tutoring students who are doing their GCSEs and A-Levels, I know the methods that work best to help your child understand the content they need to know. I understand the way young people learn very well and the ways I teach reflect this - with an extensive focus on understanding (not memorising) and application to real-world contexts so your child can appreciate the reason behind learning what they learn. In addition to this, I offer extensive exam practice to ensure they understand their course, its structure, and how to maximise marks in their exams.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching students of varying ages for over a year now in Maths, Chemistry and Biology. Some of my students have been predicted As and A*s at their current level - some of them had started out at C grades when they had first come to me.

Tutoring Approach:

My aim is to work with your child to help them learn and understand the content (rather than simply memorise) so the sessions your child has with me will be greatly focused on what they would like to learn in their specification, what areas they need to improve on, and exam question practice and please be rest assured that you'll be updated about their progress regularly.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified secondary science teacher who specialises in Biology. I currently work at Buxton and Leek College as Lead Lecturer for T-Level Health and BTEC Health and Social Care. I have a degree in Biology, experience working within the NHS and I am currently tutoring to students in the evenings, alongside my full time FE teaching role.
I am a very relaxed teacher, who likes to get to know my students so I can tailor a personalised approach to my lessons.
I am a huge Harry Potter fan, love books, movies and board games.

Teaching Experience:

I am a PGCE trained science teacher and I have spent 1 year teaching in a secondary school where I was able to teach all science subjects to GCSE students. I ran an after school science club to a group of students who were wanting additional support. I have spent the past 1.5 years lecturing at Buxton College to T-Level and BTEC students, teaching both Biology and Chemistry to level 3 and 4 students plus healthcare units. I have also been private tutoring for the past 10 months in the evenings.

Tutoring Approach:

I will first start by gauging my students abilities, strengths and weaknesses. I will then develop a personalised plan for each student so that we can develop areas of weakness and build upon their core strengths. I have a very relaxed style and realise that students learn better when they are engaged and interested in he content. I like to relate science to a real world context, so that students know why they are being taught the information.

Personal Description:
I am a student studying Biomedical Science in the University of Sunderland with an integrated placement at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. I have a passion for teaching Maths, Science and English as they were some of my favourite subjects in school, and since it hasn't been very long since I've left my secondary education, I am well versed in those three subjects, science to a further level due to my degree. I hope I can be of help to all students, as I have a very specific methodology of teaching, personalised for each student, and will be happy to have the student's input too. I love teaching, as for me it's something to help the younger generation and support those who need my help.

Teaching Experience:

I teach English, Science and Maths right now to a couple students, however, some of my students have now reached University and no longer need my help. This means that I have space to take in more students for these subjects, though I can teach a range.
I have experience in teaching those younger than me in my school days, where I headed an afterschool session once a week for those who needed help with anything they were taught throughout the year. I also made sure they were prepared for exam season, making sure that they focused on exam papers, and learning and revising through making mistakes with those questions, rather than making notes.
I have helped students with improving their musical talents as well, as I have played the piano and learnt singing to a high level (Grade 8 Piano and Grade 7 singing), and this helped me learn better communication with students as well as their parents.
I also work part time in the NHS, this allows me to be amazing on time management and I am incredibly hard working. I wish to support my students in every way I can.

Tutoring Approach:

I have been taught online as well as helped students online with interview preparation. I found it incredibly fulfilling and much easier than travelling around to places, which can be difficult with those with big workloads or don't have much time during their day. I have taught online during the weekends, as it is much easier to fill up time and space, and think it is the best case scenario for everyone. However, I do understand that doing tutoring online might seem like a waste of time, but I feel as though online tutoring can help students concentrate for longer as they have the ability to do it in their own home.

Personal Description:
I am an experienced Chemistry teacher working in London. I am Head of Faculty of a large science department and teach Chemistry to A level, and Biology and Physics to GCSE. I hold a first class honours degree in chemistry and completed my teacher training (chemistry) and my MA in Science Education with King's College London. In addition I am an examiner for one of the larger exam boards.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching and tutoring for over a decade now.

Tutoring Approach:

I have an innate feature of make learning energetic and bringing about enthusiasm within students so that they continue to harness their learning naturally, without my presence. One main aim of my tutoring position is to employ students with key skills needed to efficiently revise, especially independently. Thus during crucial tuition periods, more time is spent approaching exam content, such as examination questions and reports and picking upon more complex revision content. However, all content is still taught from basic to the most highest of levels, to ensure full understanding of all topics as a whole. My students excel beyond teaching content in class and expected grades. I am a very efficient, yet calm and tutor and have a large amount of teaching experience which I would like to emanate.

Personal Description:
Hi, I'm Aysha, and I'm a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor who loves supporting students and helping them succeed in their studies. I have a strong academic background, having completed my studies in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Chemistry. My predicted grades are A* in Mathematics, A* in Further Mathematics, and A in Chemistry.I enjoy helping students overcome challenging topics and believe that every student can succeed with the right guidance and encouragement. I strive to create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their abilities.

Having only recently studied these subjects myself, I have a strong understanding of the current GCSE and A-Level specifications, exam techniques, and the areas that students often find most challenging. This allows me to explain concepts in a way that is clear, relatable, and tailored to the latest curriculum.

Teaching Experience:

I am a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor with one year of experience working at Fine Tutors, where I worked with students of different ages and abilities, helping them build confidence and improve their academic performance. I also have experience providing private one-to-one A-Level Chemistry tuition, allowing me to tailor lessons to each student's individual learning style and pace.

Having worked with students of varying abilities, I understand that every learner is different. I adapt my teaching methods to suit each student's needs, whether that involves breaking down complex topics into simpler steps, providing additional practice, or challenging higher-achieving students with more advanced questions. I focus on creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing confidence in their abilities.

My goal is to help every student reach their full potential by delivering engaging, personalized lessons that build both understanding and exam confidence.

Tutoring Approach:

I am passionate about tutoring because I genuinely enjoy helping others learn, grow, and achieve their goals. Seeing a student gain confidence in a topic they once found challenging is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and breaking down complex concepts into simple, understandable steps, helping students develop both their understanding and confidence.

My lessons are supportive, engaging, and tailored to each student's individual needs and learning style. I encourage students to ask questions, think independently, and learn from their mistakes in a positive environment. Whether a student needs help building strong foundations or aiming for the highest grades, I am committed to providing the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed. My aim is to make lessons engaging, effective, and focused on helping each student reach their full potential.I focus on helping students develop a deep understanding of maths and science rather than simply memorising methods.
