The tutor is the expert in subject knowledge and learning but it is the tutee who has the paramount role in their own education and excelling in their subjects. I firmly believe that the role of a tutor is that of a catalyst and the child's role in their own learning is of greater importance. For the science lessons my aim is to include as much practical work as is possible, where this is feasible in a tuition setting, keeping safety of the child of paramount importance.

Honest school teachers will tell you that it is the noisy and disruptive pupils that get their attention, whereas the quite shy hardworking pupils tend to get neglected. Busy school teachers just do not have the time or energy to devote to helping their quieter or weaker pupils and it is these pupils that especially benefit from extra personal tuition. On the other hand a brighter pupil may be so far ahead of his or her peers that the teacher is just not able to give them the attention they need. I've managed to survive two lockdowns of online teaching and it has been a huge learning curve for myself. During these periods I taugh live lessons using google classroom both on an individual and classroom basis.

I am flexible, transparent and foster inclusivity in my teaching practices. I believe in developing strong, respectful relationships with students to create a sense of trust and safety. I promote the belief that abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work.
I tend to use SMART goals for each session to enable students understand the learning outcome of the session. I tailor teaching methods to address the varied learning styles, interests, and abilities of students. I regularly reflect on what worked well and what didn't, and adjust my strategies accordingly. I integrate various technological tools to ensure student is understanding the concepts appropriately.
