The style of tutoring needed by individual students will vary. It may start with ensuring understanding of the key concepts in biology at an appropriate level. The jump to A level from GCSE is quite considerable and even the brightest students can struggle initially. Another essential skill needed is the ability to pull together biological content taught in different parts of the syllabus. As exam time approaches, a student has to apply their knowledge and understanding to real exam questions. Practice of exam technique is often a large part of a tutorial session in the run up to A level exams. I have been an exchange student in 2016/17 in England and I obtained my AS levels. 99% of the students who come to me want to learn how to talk to people, so I am used to this request. I help them achieve this by ensuring that they know their grammar inside and out, and by supporting them with their speaking alongside it. The more we build on the grammar, the more we can build on the speaking, simultaneously. I have personally designed 4 levels of speaking, so the activities vary based on the level the student is in and build up smoothly.
For students who are interested in long-term tutoring, I often recommend a textbook to use along with my slides. I also make use of WhatsApp to send recordings if the student is struggling with pronunciation.

Most people appreciate the importance of knowing some basic grammar before they can practice speaking, and they are open to trusting me to fill in their knowledge gaps first. Once that's done (usually after 5-6 sessions if you start from zero), I introduce them to my "level 1" speaking practice, which is about describing a picture or something that they can visually see, in short, disconnected sentences. "Level 2" would be to try and get that speech to flow a little bit better by using pronouns and particles to avoid repetition. "Level 3" would be to add a bit of made-up background to that picture. For example, if they see that the table is laid but an object is missing, such as cutlery, they can try and think of why that could be (e.g. the man forgot to put the cutlery on the table). "Level 4" will involve describing procedures or things that they can partially visualize, or that are completely abstract, for example, describing every single action taken to make a cake, or talking about a past holiday. Lastly, "level 5" involves debating about current issues or picking a topic, establishing that we have two different opinions, and the student has to try to convince me of theirs.
These "levels" vary from person to person but it provides at least an idea of how the speech develops alongside the grammar, which is present in every session.

I started my career as a Chemical Engineer and completed my PhD in that subject.

In my classes, I prepare students for the exams by taking regular mocks or tests after explaining the topic in detail.

I have more than 12 years experience in teaching science subjects.
I have done Bachelor of Science, Masters in Chemistry and having vast experience of teaching students of different grades in schools, colleges and University college as well.
I gave 100% merit result in previous exams.
I have published a research paper related to biochemistry and reactions and currently I am updating myself with new knowledge and information.
Teaching is my life and passion.

Tutoring Approach:
I use different approaches that should be firstly student centred.
I will use online platform, white board, quizes, videos in my lessons and every minute detail related to the topic covered. I will also provide enough time to the student for his knowledge check before explaining the topic.
Different types of tests and techniques will be used throughout the course.
Mind map will be provided.
PowerPoint presentation will be given.

Personal Description:
I have a wealth of experience teaching A level Biology; I possess excellent communication skills which will facilitate an optimum online learning experience. I am a passionate, friendly and thorough teacher of Biology. My subject knowledge and understanding of the examinations set are outstanding. My organisational skills ensure that all tuitions are well planned and progress fluently from one lesson to the next. I have much experience with one-to-one A level tuition with students of a range of abilities. I have helped many students with their applications to Medicine and Dentistry.
I am currently not working in a full-time position as recently married and relocated (and enjoying life!) and therefore, I have much flexibility in terms of offering suitable time slots!

Teaching Experience:
I have 25 years of teaching A level Biology. I have worked as Head of Science in an outstanding sixth form college. Also, I have experience as an examiner for Biology A level.
This wealth of experience means that I am very qualified to help your son / daughter achieve their maximum potential in Biology A level.
I have taught all of the examination boards and have a thorough understanding of exam technique and mark schemes. I am fluent in all of the necessary biological terminology required for specific exam boards.

Tutoring Approach:
I adopt a friendly and personable style, but I am very much exam focussed ensuring plenty of use of past paper questions (which I set and mark as homework - this is unusual and included in the fee). I explain all difficult biological concepts thoroughly, coupled with the use of PowerPoint presentations. I ensure every aspect of the specification is covered thoroughly in order for students to meet mark scheme terminology. Students will have full exposure to all three exam papers and, therefore, will feel fully confident sitting their actual exams.
