I currently Subject Lead in Art and Design in a secondary school in Bishops Stortford and have a first class honours degree in Illustration and extensive skills in digital media including web design, image manipulation and design for print. Particular strengths of mine are life drawing and painting. I also have skills in textiles, quilt making, sewing and other crafts. I often like to introduce my students to new ways of working by combining media in creative ways. I have a PGCE in Secondary Art and Design as well as an MA in Art and Design in Education. I studied architecture then moved into the world of film and commercials as a set designer,training at the BBC and moving into the freelance world working on Films and Commercials (Production Design,Art Direction and Set Dressing).Drawing skills have always been central to my varied art and design career .
In film I collaborated with a variety of creatives including directors ,lighting,costume,makeup,special effects designers,which was enriching and inspirational.Then I began to paint for other designers on their projects and my artwork became a larger part of my work.

Welcome, artist friend! I am Calina and I have been studying art since 1986. I have created the way in this field for more than 35 years. Currently I live and create at my studio in Lower Earley (Reading). I love and I am pleased to expanding the field of Abstract Expressionism. I use simplified shapes with small details in the descriptive scenes.
A big part of my inspiration comes from the natural surroundings and through my travels. The main topic that I approach it is landscape, in all moods and mysteries. Through my art I would like to share with you different states of nature.The composition is balanced by the characters you always find in nature: different species of trees, wild animals and their world. The diversity of materials that I use helps me to create in the smallest details, impressions created about the natural world and our experiences with it.
My works can be found in numerous private and corporate collections throughout the United Kingdom and internationally. I can't imagine a single day without the colours, brushes and canvases.

I have been teaching art for nearly 20 years. I teach drawing, painting and sculpture. I also teach papier-mâché technique to make masks and puppets.

I am a professional Theatre Stage and Costume Designer (M.F.A. graduated in 2004), and I have worked in many theatre productions in UK and abroad, as a stage, set and costume designer as well as a puppet maker. My latest theatre design works (in 2018) are with Xameleon Theatre Productions in London: "The Little Prince" (after Saint-Exupéry`s tale), "Heart of a Dog" (Mikhail Bulgakov) - in both productions I made stage, props and costume design.

For the last eight years I have also worked as a sculptor. I work in clay and my sculptors have been displayed in several exhibitions in London: in Royal Society of British Artists, in The Society Women Artists, in Cork Street Open Exhibition, in Mall Galleries and others.

I divide my time between teaching art , my theatre design projects and my sculptures.

I also do photography for my own enjoyment, specifically looking at landscape and architectural photography. I have freelanced previously as a wedding photographer but that life was just not for me as I much prefer teaching the subject as a career! I am currently teaching at a private school, teaching A-Level and GCSE Photography and KS3 Art. I have worked with AQA and Edexcel and I am up to date on my standardisation procedures for Edexcel examing board, most recently having been on a training course in November 2023. I am a visual artist, born and raised in Italy, currently living and working in London. I am a professional and practising international artist with experience in the art industry in the UK, Europe and Asia. I have an active studio practice and I work mainly with sculpture, casting, installation and analogue photography, but I have extensive experience in painting, printmaking, paper making, drawing.
I have also been working as a studio assistant for several internationally known artists both in the UK and in Europe and as a photographer's assistant.

I have been an Associate Producer and Production Designer in an Indonesian web series '19 Letters' directed and produced by Dinda Unaroma.
I worked as a Graphic Designer, illustrator and Art Director in the prestigious US based magazines like 'Vanichi Fashion' and 'Impact Relevance Mag'

As they say ART knows no boundaries and I believe everything artistic is somewhat collaborative. During 2017 I along with my creative friends, we setup our own architecture and interior design firm 'Tales & Details'. In T&D we have been successfully delivering the hospitality and residential projects based in the city of oranges Nagpur.

I work as an Associate Lecturer on the BA Painting Programme at Camberwell College of Arts (University of the Arts London), as a mentor on the Turps Painting Programme and was invited to be a Visiting Artist at Goldsmiths for 2023, and again for 2024. I am also a Dissertation Supervisor for Final Year students at Camberwell on their BA Programme. My specialism is Art History, however I have extensive knowledge of a wide variety of subjects and my tutees have all immensely improved their grades (often by multiple grade bands) and have been very happy with their results.

I also teach writing for a wide variety of audiences. I have experience writing reviews of exhibitions for Mousse magazine and an in conversation series with key artistic figures, including Turner Prize winner Mark Leckey, Markus Lüpertz, Leidy Churchman and Chris Martin. In 2019 my writing won the a-n arts prize and I took part in a series of workshops facilitated by prominent writers and editors, such as the Editor of Frieze magazine.

In 2014 I completed an MA in "Authorial Illustration" (with Distinction) at the University of Falmouth.
