I work as a practicing artist, lecturer and illustrator I feel extremely lucky have been able throughout my working life to combine two of my favourite things, art & nature.

My award winning work has sold widely across the UK and in the USA. Careful study, thoughtful composition, and atmosphere are the key elements that go into my personal work.

I have been an external examiner for several programmes and I am currently a certfied moderator for Access to HE Art, Design & Media Diplomas through Ascentis.

Teaching Experience:
dI have over 25 years experience teaching degree level, HND and ND levels of illustration, drawing and illustration industrial placement. More recently I have collaborated to design workshops and short courses in art and illustration, working with organisations and individuals. I have taught in the UK for over 10 years and have extensive experience in teaching Art at A-level and at GCSE. I see myself as a 2D specialist as I can do a number of different techniques and have an experimental approach to teaching Art. Every project is unique and I am constantly learning. I will be able to do printmaking with students, painting, textiles, some Adobe photoshop work and basic construction work. But most importantly I do understand the exam boards at GCSE and at A-level and enjoy developing a project with the student to meet the assessment objectives of the exam board and in so doing taking the students through a journey of discovery where they can become empowered and passionate about their work. I have worked with a number of exam boards and even consulted with OFQUAL where I helped look at the standards in the exam board across the Country. I am a professional in my field and will be able to support students in developing their Art and Design skills and will aim to make it a personal journey where students choose their own technique and learn to develop this in line with the requirements of the Examination Board.

Tutoring Approach:
I would work with the student to find out exactly what their special skill is in Art. Students will need to find a topic that inspires them and do some visual research on this and I would then help the students by teaching them a range of different techniques, learning how to draw in a number of media from pencil, chalk, oil pastel, pen and ink, biro and graphite and then teach them how to paint in gouache, acrylic, watercolour and use a mixed media approach. Textiles is also a medium I would offer students and basic construction techniques. Adobe photoshop skills is also important in developing photographic images as part of the development. Developing different skills until the student finds out what they particularly enjoy working with and helping the student to explore different media to extend their ideas and lead the students up to developing a final piece. The students would then have a whole project from beginning to end which will help with portfolio development.

I studied Creative Arts at the University of Wollongong, NSW, Australia, worked as an artist for several years before deciding on a career in the catering industry.
I worked as a cook/chef for a few years before moving to Madrid, Spain to teach English to students of all ages and work as a part-time tour guide/manager for an English company.

I studied Fine Art at Canterbury College of Art in the 1980's. As an artist I work figuratively. Through drawing in either pencil, charcoal, ink or pen I take my work forward into 3D materials and use photography as a major influence to inform my structures. I primarily teach young people preparing for art portfolio presentations and university entrance exams. I make a policy to teach from life using the traditional teaching methods and techniques of the great masters from the Italian Renaissance as this is how I was educated. I teach my students to understand and use perspective, relationships, contrasts and composition. I teach any level of art student following an initial portfolio review. This portfolio review helps me see previous drawings students have done which helps me understand how to construct our lessons in order to achieve success.

I am a professional fine artist with many years experience of teaching in Colleges and Universities both in the UK and the USA. My approach to tutoring is to work with the students regarding whatever project they may be working on. In some cases I write a project for them. Hi! My name is Claudia, I'm a 26 year old artist, illustrator, and mum of one.

I work part time in a secondary school/sixth form as an art technician and a large part of my role is assisting our wonderful students with their projects. I often get allocated 1:1 time with students that are having a harder time than others in some way, and I find this element of the job particularly rewarding.
Due to the nature of my work, I have a good understanding of the current curriculum, as well as the GCSE and A-Level programs.

I graduated in 2019 with a bachelors degree in Fine Art from AUB, as well as a foundation diploma in Art & Design from UCA. Since graduating I have been continuously developing my own artistic practice and working on a wide range of commissions, alongside raising my little boy.

I am an RCA MA Painting graduate, and I have a BA(Hons) degree in Fine Art from Westminster University, and a Foundation diploma in Art & Design from the University for the Creative Arts. I am a practicing artist based in London, specializing in painting, and I have been showing my work nationally and internationally. My recent solo show was at Class Reiss London, and I also had a solo presentation at Art Athina. I can offer art lessons for younger children, involving introduction to creative techniques and idea development, mentoring and support with portfolio preparation to apply for art schools internationally  as well as tutoring on contextualizing your work through constructive and generative feedback.

Personal Description:
I am an active artist with decades of experience and a studio in the Southeast London area.
Classically educated to Masters level and able to utilise different mediums and techniques to produce paintings, sculptures or models.
I specialise in oil on canvas and have a style described as a mixture of Monet and Constable.
I also possess my own DIY handmade roto casting machine for producing plaster and resin models.

Painting has always been my favourite medium. Still-life, landscapes, portraits, anything. However, I have an affinity towards boats, animals, wildlife, and nature in general.

Teaching Experience:
Following experience as a substitute teacher, I have gone on to provide in person tuition to children and adults for the past few years.

Tutoring Approach:
Classically trained, I work with the student to build the foundations needed to be a great artist. This includes a hands-on approach to strengthen weaknesses and guide the student towards their end goal.
The skills I can show you are:
• Drawing fundamentals such as colour, mixing techniques, layering methods.
• Using basic shapes to break down complex subjects into simple geometric forms.
• Emphasize proportions by using guidelines and measuring techniques to help maintain accuracy.
• Train observational skills by drawing from life to develop keen visual perception and develop control over form and texture.
• Practice contour drawing to focus on capturing the outlines to build hand-eye coordination.
• Introduce light and shadow to create depth and volume.
• Understand and use perspective to add atmosphere and feeling.
