I am a recently retired teacher with over 30 years combined experience in further education, independent and maintained secondary schools. I am now based in a beautiful part of Norfolk, where I paint, give private tuition and run an art club.
My own work is based on observations of mans' intervention in the landscape. I work in oils, water colour, digital photography and print.

My first foray into teaching was in further education as a visiting lecturer in graphic design and illustration. I have extensive experience as a senior regional moderator for GCSE examinations in art and design with a leading examinations board, being responsible for supervising the work of a team of visiting moderators in the south east of England, and for resolving disputes with schools. I do voluntary work for the National Trust, giving occasional talks to schools on symbolism in Tudor portraits.

Having started my career as a graphic designer I had, by necessity, to broaden my experience and skills into other two and three-dimensional media in order to become a successful teacher. Teaching is about finding the unique personality of the individual and finding ways to encourage its expression. Originally a ceramic designer working in the pottery industry I am based in Stoke on Trent. I worked for The Wedgwood group producing designs for companies, airlines and hotels such as The Waldorf, Langhams, Marks and Spencer and Concorde.
Having retired from designing and teaching I now love to paint, usually in large format and in acrylic. I also enjoy oil, watercolour and pastel chalks. My sketchbook follows me wherever I go.

I have been teaching art for nearly 20 years. I teach drawing, painting and sculpture. I also teach papier-mâché technique to make masks and puppets.

I am a professional Theatre Stage and Costume Designer (M.F.A. graduated in 2004), and I have worked in many theatre productions in UK and abroad, as a stage, set and costume designer as well as a puppet maker. My latest theatre design works (in 2018) are with Xameleon Theatre Productions in London: "The Little Prince" (after Saint-Exupéry`s tale), "Heart of a Dog" (Mikhail Bulgakov) - in both productions I made stage, props and costume design.

I am an artist and qualified primary school teacher interested in textiles, printmaking and material design. My degree was in History of Art and Material Studies so I love all things art.
