I specialise in portraiture and figurative art and drawing. I've also worked with iPad painting. My preferred medium is oil and acrylic, charcoals and pencil. Much of my work is done through direct observation and I stress to students, the importance of this. Professional and practising international artist with over twenty years experience in the art industry in the US and the UK.
I have an active studio practice producing sculptures, illustrations, props and miniatures for various clients and supplement my income on the side with teaching when possible as I do enjoy sharing what I love. My home and studio practice is in east London but I teach at the Victoria & Albert Museum as its important to me to keep my teaching and my studio separate. I have over twenty years teaching experience teaching all levels in the arts and all ages in the classroom in a school setting and also privately one to one.

In the United States, I've taught as an art teacher in elementary schools, high schools and after school art clubs. I've also taught in art festivals and art heritage museums here in the UK.

In the last few years I've preferred to teach privately one to one rather than in a class as I prefer the results I achieve when working with a single student. I don't enjoy a classroom setting as I often spent more time doing crowd control than actually getting anything done.

I primarily teach young people preparing for art portfolio presentations and university entrance exams. I make a policy to teach from life using the traditional teaching methods and techniques of the great masters from the Italian Renaissance as this is how I was educated. I teach my students to understand and use perspective, relationships, contrasts and composition. I teach any level of art student following an initial portfolio review. This portfolio review helps me see previous drawings students have done which helps me understand how to construct our lessons in order to achieve success.

I teach in the Victoria & Albert museum as I teach from life. All my classes are a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 4 hours. I don't teach anyone younger than 16 years old.

I founded my art company in 2017 in Reigate. Over a few years I grew our community of like minded Art tutors and students coming together to share our Art passion. Outgrowing our first studio, Covid lockdowns created an opportunity to move to a beautiful studio space. We developed and diversified our Art tuition offering. I was an art scholar at school, and studied Illustration (BA Hons) in Cambridge. Design and craft have always been a part of my career, but I began drawing again a few years ago now, during the evenings after my daughter had gone to bed and I was immediately reminded of the therapeutic effects drawing and being creative can be, especially for a creative mind.

I posted a couple on Instagram and they were sold within minutes. Since then, I have had the most amazing commission requests for the inks and over the last year have been commissioned several times to draw women during their later stages of pregnancy - such an intimate time to commemorate, each one is incredibly special.
The nudes evoke different energies, feelings, emotions - celebrating all bodies, all curves, and all that a body can do and enjoy.

I work across all media - sculpting is a huge favourite of mine, along with botanical watercolours, and portrait sketches.

I would love to help those wanting to explore art in general, understand the basics, explore different styles and find a new outlet. For those wanting to improve, I would also love to help.
