The most important thing about learning a different language is passion. I would rather teach student Chinese from the area they are interested into than routine staff. For example, their hobbies, favourite movies, musics, sports and so forth. As far as I concerned, enthusiasm is essential not only for teacher but also for student. Also, I would use creative approach to teach Mandarin by hanging out in Chinatown, Chinese supermarket so as to give them a practival experience of learning a different language and have a deep understanding both Mandarian and Chinese culture.
