I am a native of Italy who has lived in the UK for 35 years and has well adapted to the British system of education, still bringing in some of the flavour of her own mother country in connection with love and curiosity for languages, cultures, and contacts with people and their cultures through the activity of teaching.

Teaching Experience:
I have been in the field of teaching languages (Italian being my special subject) for 21 years and have taught for all these years at all levels: children, GCSE, Highers level, University level, and adult classes both vocational and leasure/tourist.
My qualifications include a ESOL-Celta (Univ. of Cambridge) in teaching English as a Foreign Language to children and adults; a degree in English language and literature, as well as French language and literature; a PhD in Italian Studies. I have had mostly experience of teaching at University level in both language and culture (literature and cinema) in the last 10 years where my teaching ranges from beginners through to advanced level of Italian Language; and all levels of culture tutoring; translation studies.

My teaching approach to tutoring varies from objective to objective. Languages should always be taught in a full immersion style, especially when it is targeting groups of people who are doing it for either vocational or personal reasons.
Tutoring of subjects such as languages with an objective such as GCSE or Highers or indeed University exams must take into account the syllabus that students must complete in order to reach their target: i.e. pass exams and, at the same time, learn in an effective though 'unforgettable' way. The majority of classes must be delivered in the target language, however in order to meet timing of syllabus coverage and exams some of the concept must be strengthened in the student's language.
In an ideal world, where no exams or timed targets exist, then tutoring of a language should happen 100% in the target language.

I am 36 years old and graduated from Leeds University with a 2:1 degree in Spanish Langauge and Literature with an accredited distinction in speaking. I spent a year in Murcia working for the British Council teaching English to Spanish students aged from 11-17. I am passionate about learning and teaching Spanish and I am keen to use my knowledge and experience to enhance other's language skills. I have 11 years of tutoring experience to date, I have helped a number of students with A Level and GCSE Exam prep. I privately tutored a student who was not studying Spanish at school just independently with myself and he achieved an A* in GCSE. I am currently tutoring a mix of adult learners,

Previously,I taught English for a year while working for the British Council in Murcia, Spain. As the level of english was low in some years I had to direct the entire class in Spanish and work out the best ways to encourage the children to engage in the English Language.

In addition to the language assistant role I also privately tutored 6 students whilst living in Spain, the ages ranged from 11 to an adult learner and each session was tailored to suit their needs.
Whilst at University I completed a City and Guilds Professional Development Award in Education, this required working on a mentoring programme with a GCSE student and documenting their progress.

I aim to tailor my lessons to suit the learner, I will complete an assessment prior to starting the tutoring and work together with the student to identify potential areas of improvement. I am keen to pass on my Spanish Language knowledge and work with students to improve grammatical accuracy. I have seen students` confidence in their abilities increases and their understanding deepens. Both students and parents have offered positive feedback from the great improvement in their grade as a result of my tuition. For example, a student`s grade in A Level Physics improved from originally an E to an A after my tuition, while others attend their preferred schools after help revision for their entrance exams.

After various school placements, such as teaching classes at St Aidan`s (ranked amongst the highest achieving comprehensive schools in the country), for over five years I have helped a multitude of pupils ranging from as young as six through to mature students.

After my tuition, candidates attained the necessary grades for their university offers, including from Oxbridge, to study courses relevant to our preparation. I am happy to offer tuition for all other syllabuses as well, for example WJEC and for free-standing maths qualifications.
I also offer tuition to adults wanting to improve their own maths understanding and skills, for example to help with their career or to pass graduate skills tests such as Kenexa, SHL and numeracy for QTS etc.
I have helped several students with Asperger Syndrome, those with dyslexia and students who are home schooled, have conditions including severe physical handicaps, speech and language difficulties or have had to change school due to behavioural difficulties. Furthermore, I have been trained for and have taught looked after children and also have experience of helping those for whom English is an additional language.

My name is Marese, I'm a CELTA qualified English Language Teacher and I live in Glasgow, Scotland. Over the last 10 years I have developed a maths tutoring business for underachieving and under confident children, covering KS2,KS3 and GCSE,I use a combination of online, interactive maths support and face to face tutoring for children and young adults who for one reason or another find maths difficult.

Teaching Experience:
In my experience working with many students in a supportive, relaxed and friendly atmosphere on a one to one basis is completely the opposite to the classroom environment.
