I qualified as a Teacher in 2006. I consider myself a friendly and approachable person and I like to take an interest in the people around me. I have lived in several cities in the UK (North and South) and therefore have a diverse and dispersed group of friends. I have always enjoyed learning and working with young people as I enjoy seeing the spark, energy and potential they have. I am interested in Football and until recently played regularly.

I am the Head of Business and Economics at LVS Ascot and I have spent the last 19 years working successfully in Schools such as St Lukes Science and Sports College in Exeter, The Ridings High School in South Gloucestershire and St Josephs Catholic School in Slough. I have consistently achieved good results with my pupils. I have designed hundreds of resources for my subject that enable students to work towards the criteria set down by exam boards at both GCSE and A' Level. I have extensive knowledge of the AQA and Edexcel courses and exam technique for A2. I have been an examiner for A Level Economics for 10 Years and I currently mark for Edexcel having previously marked for the AQA exam board. This has given me an insight into how exam papers are marked and how students can be prepared for these papers.

I like to give a clear structure structure to work towards a qualification giving students clear instructions on exactly what they need to include in examinations or coursework. I look to build strong personal relationships with my pupils reinforcing confidence to attempt difficult task and changing my teaching to meet the learning needs of individuals. As a tutor I will make sure I am avaiable contact by you during every evening to monitor and assess your work and deal with any problems you may come across. I provide detailed feedback on what you need to do to reach the higher grades and will point you towards the information you need to do well in Business studies or Economics.

I am an experienced language teacher and native speaker of Arabic and German and teach at school as well as giving private lessons. Teaching at all levels and using a large variety of materials, tailored to students' ages and needs, the emphasis is on enjoying the process of learning the language at the students own pace as well as working towards specific goals where appropriate.

Teaching Experience:
I teach German in school to children aged 6-10 and have given private lessons at all levels and to all ages, children, adolescents and adults, in both German and Arabic, for many years. My background is in interpreting and translation and I moved on to teaching from there. One of my long term Arabic students is now studying Arabic at university level, many of my other students have successfully completed GCSEs and A levels in both languages and/or gone on to use both languages for work or leisure purposes.

Tutoring Approach:
The emphasis is on the enjoyment of the learning process, I adapt the materials used to the individual needs of my students and everything is tailored to those needs. For children the emphasis is on learning through games, play and song, for adolescents and adults games and play may still form a part of the process. Cultural instruction and understanding goes hand in hand with the learning of the language, especially with Arabic as the culture and script are so different and present special challenges. I love my work and I try to convey a love of language to my students too.

I am a 22 year old who is currently working at RWS translations group in Chalfont St Peter. I have recently graduated from Durham University with a 2.1 BA in Modern Languages (French and Italian). I also studied Spanish up to 2nd year. I enjoy speaking different languages and try to pass on my enthusiasm for languages to others.

Teaching Experience:
My third year at University was spent abroad. I chose to teach in France for 7 months in two primary schools which I very much enjoyed. I loved to chat to the children and try to get them to see the importance of learning English. I also au-paired for three months in Italy during my Year Abroad, which involved private lessons with a 7 year old. I have also previously tutored French, which included exam preparation, focusing on problematic areas and improving confidence. I understand how difficult languages can be, I believe I can sympathise with the student. The lesson must be fun and the student needs to understand the importance of learning a language, in order to be enthusiastic about it.

Tutoring Approach:
I believe languages are crucial in education. Throughout university I took part in Routes into Languages, a consortium of universities working together with schools and colleges, to enthuse and encourage people to study languages. This role involved planning taster classes for small groups, introducing a new language into their education and broadening their knowledge of the world and different cultures. I particularly enjoyed this role as I was enable to communicate the importance of languages and perhaps inspire some of the children to carry languages on past year 9.

I am currently teaching in Japan for one year until September. I have experience with all ages, and am a very approachable and friendly teacher! I enjoy keeping lessons fun and engaging, so you enjoy the lesson as well as learn a lot. I am a very active person and Chester is such a nice place to explore!

I am a Chemistry teacher also an approved examiner for AQA, Edexcel and OCR. I have over 7 years of teaching experience in two of the best schools in the country over the private and state sector and also an experienced tutor over the past 12 years.

I do teaching and mentoring because I enjoy it the most. With an enthusiastic and energetic approach and by creating an interactive atmosphere, I encourage the students to work through the problems and understand the underlying scientific and mathematical principles. I believe it is important to push students and encourage them to do the best they can it evidently has worked in my experience with tutoring.

I have had a significant amount of tutoring experience during my time whilst studying. I found these sessions very useful in honing my teaching abilities and it gave me a good idea in regards to dealing with students who are at different academic levels and of varying personalities.

Tutoring Approach:
I promote a highly interactive paradigm to my teaching such that our sessions are more of an educated conversation as opposed to a lecture. In my opinion this promotes greater understanding within the pupil and allows for their interest to be maintained for a longer period of time through the session.

The way I teach will primarily depend on the student that I am with and the pace will of course vary accordingly. At the start of our teaching arrangement I will first of all attempt to gauge exactly what my student wants from our sessions and at what academic level they wish to ascend to, once that is understood I will plan our sessions appropriately to suit their needs. Furthermore at the start of each session I, with input from the student, will form a list of learning objectives for the session and will aim to achieve all of them effectively. This provides us with a list of topics covered and a good way to appraise what we have learnt.

A native Japanese from Tokyo with the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language. Lived in the UK for over 25 years. Specifically trained to teach non-Japanese learners. Teaching full time as a profession. My background is in graphic design but I travelled around New Zealand and Australia before coming to the UK. Through my travel, I met people from many different countries and greatly enjoyed the experience. I live in Kings Norton which is in the south side of Birmingham.

Teaching Experience:
I taught my son Japanese singlehandedly from home without outside help and he got A* for both Japanese GCSE and A level. I take on both adults and students ranging from adults with Japanese connection in business, students who are studying for GCSE/JLPT. Young people who want to live and work in Japan in the future, people who want to watch Japanese anime without subtitles, people who want to visit Japan on holiday and much more. The level of my students range from complete beginners to upper-intermediate. I have also taught groups of children, and also a group of adults at a company. Both group types had some cultural sessions in which I received excellent feedback.

¡Hola! I am Alba. I was born in the south of Spain and have lived there for the majority of my life. I did Spanish Studies as a degree in Huelva (near Seville), and later enrolled in an MA for Spanish Teaching as a Foreign Language in my home town, Granada. I then moved to the UK to work as an Assistant Teacher of Spanish in London, which led me to taking the PGCE course and acquiring Qualified Teacher Status. I am currently a teacher of Spanish at Secondary level in inner Birmingham.

Back in Spain I used to teach in an independent school in Ronda (Málaga), where we offered from one-to-one lessons to small classes of beginners to advanced level, and I absolutely loved it. In my experience, my students thrive in a more personalised environment of their choosing.
