Personal Description:
I have many years experience of running companies (my own and those belonging to others), and this knowledge is extremely helpful for students seeking Business English lessons, especially in respect of business meetings, introductions and writing letters. Although born just South of London, I have spent many years in other countries (16 years in Russia).

In addition to teaching I provide a proof-reading service, write promotional articles, and frequently write News articles that have been read by millions of people (I have also written three books)

Teaching Experience:
I have more than 8 years teaching experience and hold an International TEFL Teacher Training certificate. I currently teach English as a second language in the UK and previously provided this service to students in Moscow (Russia). My students have been varied (unemployed up to company directors) and their levels have ranged from Elementary to Advanced (individuals and groups).

Tutoring Approach:
No two students are the same and I adapt my teaching techniques to take this into account, often using my own unique methods to help students with pronunciation etc. Learning a new language is never easy, but I provide lessons in a relaxed style (with some humour) to make the process more enjoyable. Most importantly, I obtain results.

I currently work for Derbyshire County Council as an 'out of school' tutor in the core subjects and also as a private maths tutor. During 2012/13 I worked at Levenshulme High school, an 11-16 girls school in Manchester, where I taught maths. Prior to this I worked at Burnage Media Arts College as a maths teacher and Astley Sports College as a maths teacher with extra responsibilities as the ICT coordinator and the gifted and talented coordinator for the whole school. From completing my degree to pursuing a career in teaching I raced as a semi-professional on the Great Britain National Cycling Squad. I have represented Great Britain at several World Championship events and also the 1998 Commonwealth Games. I have also gained gold medals at both World and National level over the last several years. I am also a member of Glossop mountain Rescue Team.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level maths for 13 years. I have taught in secondary schools in both Tameside and Manchester and also delivered one to one maths tuition throughout this period. I have extensive experience of teaching Edexcel and AQA syllabuses. I have specific experience of one to one tuition to convert grade D students at GCSE to a grade C. I have a Secondary teaching qualification and also an FE teaching qualification. I have a B.Sc honours degree in mathematics.

Tutoring Approach:
All programmes of study are tailored towards the specific needs of each student. It may be exam preparation, exam practise, exam revision or maths 'booster' sessions. I offer a friendly, supportive and affordable service. I use an extensive selection of resources to make learning fun and accessible to all students, whatever their needs. I studied Korean studies at the University of Sheffield and lived in Korea for one year. I am half Greek and half British (Welsh) and am fluent in both languages and very advanced in Korean language. I was a teacher on an online school called Barons English for a year, teaching English as a foreign language to mainly Korean students and I also had a few private students while I was at university to help them pass the IELTS examination.

First of all according to the level of the student and what they need, we shall work on their progress through a text book or whatever they have been using thus far. For beginners in Greek or Korean I have some appropriate text books we could use.
