Unlike most tutors, I am a qualified teacher and have been a successful Head of Physics, Head of science and currently Lead practitioner in charge of STEM outreach. I am actively involved in training other to improve their Science teaching.

I am an experienced Head of Physics and fully qualified secondary school teacher in Science. I have vast experience of tutoring from year 7 up to A-level and unlike other tutors I am also teaching in the classroom. This allows me to be up-to-date with curriculum changes, coursework requirements and thorough knowledge of areas which students struggle with in all aspects of Science. I am also a sixth form school tutor which means that I understand the requirements for entry into sixth form and the UCAS process.

I am originally from Wales. I consider myself to be friendly and conscientious. Education is an important tool and I enjoy working with children and seeing them be the best that they can be.

Teaching Experience:
I am currently a Lead practitioner of Science/STEM, after having been a Head of Physics at a secondary school with 16+ years experience. I am responsible for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) at my school. Both of my parents were teachers and tutors (Head of Department in Science/Physicist and SENCO) whilst I was growing up. Therefore teaching and education have always been an important part of my life.
I am a teacher and have taught 11-19 year old students in three comprehensive mixed schools in various boroughs in London including Hillingdon, Camden and Haringey. I currently teach in Dorset.

I have a vast understanding of all GCSE and A-level specifications and have been an examiner for OCR and AQA.

Tutoring Approach:
Each child is different, so I like to design a plan after first finding out where the problems arise. Every child is different and I find that you cannot treat every child in the same way. I follow the syllabuses and specification, as these are my main tools as well as past exam papers........practice means progress!

It is great to see their confidence growing in the subject and hopefully their enjoyment!

Over the past 12 years, I have enabled hundreds of students to maximise their potential in GCSE, AS/A-Level and IB examinations.

I completed my PhD in 2015 (University of London), which was about the philosophy of folly in Shakespeare's plays. Having worked as a school teacher, university lecturer and held fellowships at Kingston University and the University of Athens, I currently teach Shakespeare at the CEU and run my education company. I have published two books, one based on my PhD and one on social psychology, as well as numerous articles on literature and philosophy.

Whereas English Literature, Language and Philosophy are my primary disciplines, I have also taught German and History up to A-Level standard in schools in Britain. I believe education is not simply a means to an end; rather, it offers exciting and new ways of thinking about ourselves and the world around us. In my spare time, I enjoy writing and skiing.

My teaching experience is fairly extensive and I have taught both in the UK and abroad. I have taught at schools (GCSE, IB and A-Levels) and universities in the UK, as well as leading Shakespeare workshops across Europe, when I worked for the British Council.

I believe the key to successful tuition is communication. I set clear goals for my students and ensure that they are always prepared and confident in their exams.

Depending on the students needs, I assist with academic writing and how best to fulfil the exam boards' specific Coursework Assessment Objectives or we focus on exam techniques to ensure the best possible outcome. Alongside my personal tuition, I provide my students with extensive digital resources, developed by my company, for free. I encourage discussion and debate and enjoy learning from my students. I have recently retired from part time teaching, but intend to continue with my private tuition as this is something that I love doing.

Teaching Experience:
I am a qualified engineer who took up teaching as a second career. I was a part time teacher of Mathematics in a secondary school. where I have been teaching for 8 years. I have lots of experience teaching one to one to ensure the pupil achieves their maximum potential.
In addition I have had a further 10 years teaching for the County Durham EHN team, mostly one to one, and mainly secondary pupils.

Tutoring Approach:
I have been very successfully providing tuition for a number of years to a whole range of people ranging from 6 to 36 years old. I can provide exam tutoring or just general mathematics coaching or specific topic tutoring, whichever is most appropriate the the tutee.

I have previously worked as an English Language Teacher at a variety of locations. These have mainly been in private language schools in Poland, Slovakia and Spain. I have also undertaken some work in the UK. My students have been both children and adults of various abilities. Some students have also requested Business English.

I have been teaching for approximately 15 years. In this time I have taught English Literature, English Language, English as a Second Language, Creative Writing, GCSE, A Level, PSHE and Drama. I completed my PGCE with QTS in Secondary English in 2020, working across two schools in Cornwall, before moving to Bristol to teach full time. I have a Master's in Creative Writing at Kingston University and a BA(Hons) in English Literature with Creative writing. I have a TESOL qualification certified by Trinity College, which is one of the highest acclaimed foreign language qualifications. I am British but I grew up in Hong Kong and Thailand, so I really enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds.

I have been teaching at Clifton College for the last five academic years, where I have taught years 9 - 13. I have been responsible for multiple GCSE and A Level Groups and have seen them all through successful results. We use Edexcel IGCSE for first language English and Pearson Edexcel A-Level, studying a range of non fiction texts, poems and other literature such as To Kill a Mockingbird, The Merchant of Venice, A View from the Bridge, Jekyll and Hyde, King Lear, The Handmaid's Tale and Frankenstein. I started teaching when I was 18 years old and so have a range of experience in teaching English at all levels and for a range of purposes. I begin tutoring sessions with an informal meeting where we get to know each other. Tutees will complete a language assessment questionnaire which will help me determine what level they are at. By finding out tutee's strengths and weaknesses as well as what they want to achieve, I can create lesson plans beneficial to their learning.

One of my main aims when teaching English is to try and foster a love for reading in my students, so that they can approach language and writing with enthusiasm and confidence. I also try to encourage creativity at every opportunity and will often include exercises for students to produce their own pieces of creative writing, so they can implement the techniques and language they have read in books. I find Maths exciting and want to impart my knowledge on the subject to the learners in a way so as to make it interesting. I have worked in a customer facing environment for nearly 20 years and use my problem-solving and interpersonal skills to make Maths fun for the students. In my current role as an Employability Adviser in a Further Education college, I work with the 14-19 year-old students to improve upon their employability skills, including numeracy and literacy.

I'm a recent graduate of the university of Liverpool having studies chemistry BSc. I picked the course since i enjoyed chemistry at both GCSE and A level, creating a spark within me and led me to picking the challenging yet rewarding course. I'm currently employed as a Data Scientist working in London, and I've decided to pass on the passion in studying science to the younger generation by deciding to tutor. I believe Chemistry and Science in general hold the secrets and answers to many of the problems we currently face on a societal level, anything from global warming to world hunger. Science has the ability to produce unique and creative solutions to paramount, complex problems, thus i chose to study chemistry at university level. Hello! I am a recently graduated Illustrator with a first class honours from Grays School Of Art, with experience of working both freelance and with companies at a professional level. Ive always been really passionate and enthusiastic about art with a focus on work that tells a story, which is what drew me towards studying illustration. And im keen to help foster that passion for others, As someone who had quite a turbulent art education in my high school years im quite eager to be able to help out others who might be in a similar spot and would benefit from a bit more tuition.

Ive worked with a range of ages right the way through from early high school to portfolio preparation and being a graduate myself i understand what is required for university level portfolios as well as high school examination boards. I have also worked with younger children to make art an interesting and engaging subject focusing on teaching fundamentals but through a lens they find interesting and engaging.

Tutoring Approach:
A friendly and relaxed approach looking to ensure that you have an understanding of fundamentals and help to create a portfolio or to complete course/school work to a standard that is both professional but also reflects your interests and gives you a folio of work you're really happy with. While the fundamentals are obviously important im far more interested in helping to cultivate interest and enthusiasm rather than tutoring in a very dry archaic manner. For this reason as well as traditional mediums i also cover using digital ones such as the adobe suite.
