I have been tutoring for over 10 years, and run a company focused on inspiring students to reach their potential through study techniques based on neuroscientific evidence. My first step is always to assess exactly where my student is at so that I can plan the content for sessions accordingly and make sure that they get the best out of each lesson. If there are any gaps in the foundations of their knowledge we can then attack these head on. My approach is thus very organised and tailored to the specific needs of the student, with small goals set per session alongside a long term goal to work towards. I always ensure that my lessons are engaging, and work towards building a good relationship with my students, encouraging them to ask questions without any hesitation. I adapt my approach depending on my students' learning style as I feel this is the key to successful teaching.

At GCSE and A Level, my aim is always to make sure that students are completely familiar with the subject specification and assessment objectives as this dictates exactly where they can pick up most marks. Completing as many past papers as possible is also a step in the right direction, alongside completing assignments set by myself. I always give very detailed feedback so that my students know exactly where they can improve, and how to apply it to their work going forward.

My approach for students studying Psychology at degree level depends on what is required. Most students require guidance with essays, reports, dissertations and write ups; I usually go through the assignment with the student giving valuable, detailed feedback on what can be improved and exactly how they can go about doing so. This can involve several redrafts until the work has been completed to the students' full potential.

I initially qualified as a barrister in 1986. I decided to re-qualify as a solicitor in 1990 and have worked as a solicitor ever since, covering many areas of civil and criminal law. More recently, I have specialised in criminal law. After obtaining a 2:1 Llb degree in 1985, I finished in the top 10th percentile in the Bar Exams in 1986. I retired in 2021.

I prefer to tailor my methods according to the needs of the individual student. Some students require more leadership than others. It is important that the student feels engaged in the learning process since it is the student who will have to go on in between tutorials to study the subject. It is important to encourage the student toward better work and methods of working.
I encourage students to discuss with me their difficulties in grasping a particular area of law. It is very satisfying to see a student begin to thrive in an area of law which initially seemed intimidatingly difficult.
It is always important to apply the law one has learnt to a variety of potential situations in order fully to understand how the law works in practice. Equally, such exercises are the biggest mark-earners in the exams. Learning to present an argument in a logical, easy-to-follow fashion is very important.

I have been playing the drums for over twenty years, and teaching them for over ten. I have been regularly performing live, recording, and touring since 2001. I am comfortable and experienced in many genres: rock, pop, hip-hop, metal, blues, and jazz.
My career highlights include:
- playing sold-out shows in Paris, Madrid, and Krakow
- writing and performing backing music for a theatre production in London
- writing and performing a library record of drum beats and original compositions for the King Underground record label.

Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching the drums since 2011, from children as young as 4 to adults as old as 64. I have received consistently positive feedback from students and students' parents, and teaching is something that I find tremendously rewarding. I have taught theory, sight reading, and have helped students prepare for the Trinity graded exams.

I learned very early on in my teaching career that there is no 'one size fits all' formula for helping people to learn an instrument. Some people benefit from the structure provided by working towards music exams, while others simply want to jam and play their favourite songs.
