Personal Description:
My teaching style is relaxed and friendly, making learning fun but rewarding and with a serious commitment for students to succeed. Friendly, approachable, a good sense of humour, empathetic, patient, dedicated and enthusiastic about teaching, I do my utmost to ensure that my students feel that their learning experience is fulfilling and rewarding.
I do not drive so rely on public transport to get me to and from tutoring jobs, I have put a 10 mile limit on my details but am willing to consider longer distances, however this may incur further travel costs so must be negotiated at the time of booking.
Teaching Experience:
Over 20 years experience teaching 14 years to adults, teaching CV writing (and all areas of Employability), Basic and Soft Skills (including confidence building), Business Enterprise Levels 1, 2 & 3, NVQ Business Administration Levels 1 an 2 and ESOL pre-entry to Level 2.
Qualified to Cert Ed, City & Guilds, along with certified in Teaching Literacy and Numeracy to Adults (9380 series), D32/33 Assessors Award and V1 Internal Verifier Award. Currently sourcing a college to study for the Literacy Level 4 Specialism and also to gain ESOL qualifications.
Additionally, I have gained diplomas in Aroma Stress Therapy, Flower Essence Therapy, and in Crystal Healing; and can now offer any of the therapies themselves, or teach the basics of them.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to teaching is to get to know my students and identify their particular needs, then, working together, devising a programme best suited to them. I am flexible and adaptable according to the student's needs, learning style and learning barriers.
I am more than willing to adapt whatever programme of delivery decided on to best suit the needs of my student, for instance with regard to number of hours per week, number of weeks needed etc. I am also happy to take the ESOL teaching sessions 'outside' - ie go shopping, buy tickets etc for more practical learning (any additional expenses such as extra travel, lunch etc to be negotiated prior to session taking place).

Personal Description:
I am a confident, diligent and sociable person, with a wide knowledge of world history, and specialising in American and South-East Asian history and culture. I hold a double first class Bachelors degree in History and American Studies from Canterbury Christ Church University, and have had many years experience leading youth projects such as youth councils, young persons' scrutiny forums (YPSF) and have acted as a liasion on several historical and cultural preservation projects such as the Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE) and the Church House Preservation Committee.
Teaching Experience:
I have previous experience as a teaching assistant to KS3 and KS4 level history at a state secondary school.
Tutoring Approach:
I take a holistic approach to the teaching of history, ensuring that the student becomes engaged within a fuller understanding of the period being studied. As a former student and teach of history, I realise that the principal block to a tutee's understanding of historical concepts is a lack of immersion within the relevant time-frames and thus an inability to fully comprehend why certain actions were taken, and the wider effect this had.
Thus in my approach I am firm believer that it is as important for every student to understand to a higher level than that offered by the current state curriculum the context of the period they are studying. As a consequence I offer tailored introductions to said period's culture, economy, religious and political setting, and even physical geography.
Furthermore, I offer the necessary skills to craft this knowledge into well-reasoned, informed essays. My intimate knowledge of the state education system and beyond has imbued me with the ability to gauge how assignments will be assessed and thus I can work with students not only on improving their knowledge, but showcasing this in highly-marked, structured and coherent written forms.
I use a number of methods to achieve this, including homework assignments, but also using character adoption, audio-visual aids and a mixture of written and verbal questions of varying length and form.

Since 2015 I have also been teaching Mandarin at a local private school.
In August 2015 I travelled to Beijing to undertake further teacher training at the Beijing Language & Culture University, as I feel it is important to not become complacent and look to learn new methods and techniques.

Tutoring Approach:
Every student is different so whilst my all classes cover the basics, they all are developed to personally meet your requirements and expectations.
I use various teaching methods, such as role play, newspapers, television episodes, even a trip to Chinese restaurant as well as a variety of text books and mock tests.
I will explain the grammar and how culture effects the language.
I speak with the standard correct Chinese pronunciation and use both simplified and traditional characters and even classical.
It is important to me that you both enjoy the classes but also see your Chinese develop.

I have lived in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire in the United Kingdom since December 2009. I am originally from Kumamoto, where I completed a training course at the EII Japanese Language Centre. I have now been teaching Japanese to students of all levels for nearly ten years.

I started teaching Japanese in Kumamoto, Japan 10 years ago. I teach both children and adults and from absolute beginners to advanced level students. After moving to England I've been teaching from my home.
I also have 8 years experience of teaching online using Skype and an interactive whiteboard for students all over the world. I have worked for a major Japanese online school for 2 years.
I have taught students who aim to take the JLPT exam, the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (from the1st to 5th grade), and who are studying for The Duke of Edinburgh award.
I have also helped business people who are planning to work for Japanese companies.
My lesson fees are as follows:
Face-to-face lessons/Online lessons
• Private Lessons : £28 for a one hour individual lesson
• Group Lessons
2 people : £23per person for a one hour lesson (at my home)
3 people : £20 per person for a one hour lesson
4-5 people : £18 per person for a one hour lesson
6-8 people : £15per person for a one hour lesson
You can take group lessons with your friends or family members. Discounted lesson rates are available if you can collect a group of between 2 and 8 people.
Tutoring Approach:
I begin by introducing essential sentence patterns and teaching how to use them in practise conversations. I use role-play to make the conversations real and teach how to speak Japanese naturally. You will soon realise my lessons are completely different from normal language studies at school and find that my method is both practical and effective.

Personal Description:
Hello - my name is David and I am a full-time professional tutor. I'm an experienced Maths Teacher, however I now tutor full-time. I specialise in tutoring A-level maths and also work with students at GCSE level who intend to study A-level Maths..
In the vast majority of cases students/parents are delighted with the quality of tuition and support offered. Tuition can be face-to-face or online.
Teaching Experience:
I've taught maths at various schools in the Nottingham area, specialising in A-level. I cover all A-level topics as well tutoring the Further Maths A-level syllabus. I work with students studying the AQA, Edexcel, OCR and OCR-MEI A-level specifications.
I am, of course, fully conversant with the new A-level specification (first taught from September 2017).
I have considerable experience of teaching maths at A-Level and GCSE.. In addition I have well over 10000 hours tutoring experience including online tuition.
Tutoring Approach:
I offer a friendly, effective and high quality Maths Tutoring service. My tuition is aimed at developing the student's depth of understanding and broader appreciation of mathematics. Students are strongly encouraged to develop an independent and inquiring approach to their learning. This, in my opinion, is by far the best preparation for A-level exam success and further study.
In addition I have considerable experience of tutoring adult learners who need help with maths in order to pass professional exams and progress their careers.
Students are encouraged to contact me between sessions for help with any maths questions they are struggling with. This support is completely free for all regular students.
Tutoring normally takes place either online or at my family home in Gedling, Nottingham.
Lessons usually last 1 hour.
Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss availability etc.
Thank you.

Personal Description:
I am a qualified secondary science teacher who specialises in Biology. I currently work at Buxton and Leek College as Lead Lecturer for T-Level Health and BTEC Health and Social Care. I have a degree in Biology, experience working within the NHS and I am currently tutoring to students in the evenings, alongside my full time FE teaching role.
I am a very relaxed teacher, who likes to get to know my students so I can tailor a personalised approach to my lessons.
I am a huge Harry Potter fan, love books, movies and board games.
Teaching Experience:
I am a PGCE trained science teacher and I have spent 1 year teaching in a secondary school where I was able to teach all science subjects to GCSE students. I ran an after school science club to a group of students who were wanting additional support. I have spent the past 1.5 years lecturing at Buxton College to T-Level and BTEC students, teaching both Biology and Chemistry to level 3 and 4 students plus healthcare units. I have also been private tutoring for the past 10 months in the evenings.
Tutoring Approach:
I will first start by gauging my students abilities, strengths and weaknesses. I will then develop a personalised plan for each student so that we can develop areas of weakness and build upon their core strengths. I have a very relaxed style and realise that students learn better when they are engaged and interested in he content. I like to relate science to a real world context, so that students know why they are being taught the information.

My name is Husamettin, a recent Phd from the University of Notre Dame's (USA) history department. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Oxford University's Islamic center. I would like to help you improving your Greek, Arabic, or Turkish language skills. Also, I can assist you with writing academic essays, articles, and applications in history and any related subject. Please reach me out through my email.
Teaching Experience:
2019-2021, Teaching Assistant, University of Notre Dame, Department of History. Description: My responsibility was leading discussion sections, grading papers and exams, proctoring the exams and offering office hours for the students.
Courses: HIST 10200 (Western Civilization)
HIST 30996 (War in Medieval and Modern History)
HIST 30355 (Russian History -RasPutin to Putin)
2016-2018, Teaching Assistant, Sabanci University, Department of History. Description: My responsibility was leading tutorials, grading papers, and exams, proctoring the exams, and offering office hours for the students.
Courses: SPS 101 (Humanity and Society I)
HUM 232 (Major Works of Asian Art)
Tutoring Approach:
I am open to teach beginner, intermediate, and advanced level of language courses. I would prefer in-person teaching in the Oxford area; however, online sessions would also work. Please let me know. I would like to go through a grammar book that I mostly rely on when teaching languages. However, if your level is above the beginner level, we can also do speaking sessions, where I can occasionally correct mistakes, taking notes about them. After this, we can go over the related subject.
If you need any guidance about any academia-related subject, I can help you with this. My previous students were quite happy to see that the quality of their term papers and short term assignments significantly increased after having one to one in-person sessions with me. Aside from teaching students how to contextualize various academic subjects, I also show them how to structurally organize their works.
